For high output speaker systems, PRV Audio’s 12MB1000FT-4 midbass is a powerful option capable of exceptional performance. It’s a strong addition to the Forte Series, focused on higher power handling and reduced distortion in the mid to low midbass range. 

Every detail in the 12MB1000FT-4 contributes to its standout performance. With 97.5 dB efficiency and 1000 watts of continuous program power (RMS), this midbass is especially well-suited for car audio applications, making it easy to pair with car amplifiers using 2 or 4 speakers wired in parallel. Its smooth frequency response from 70 to 3,200 Hz also makes it ideal for 2-way or 3-way systems.

A rigid cast aluminum frame with narrow spokes helps reduce reflections back into the cone. The frame also features forced cooling system openings that allow airflow to effectively cool the voice coil. 

A large ferrite magnet paired with precisely machined top and bottom plates drives the voice coil with accuracy. Dual forced vents in the back plate further enhance cooling, enabling the driver to handle up to 1000 watts RMS reliably.

Equipped with a specially formulated high-strength pulp paper cone, this driver is built for optimal linearity in the mid frequency range. A protective cone treatment enhances the damping characteristics of the moving assembly, significantly improving the smoothness of its frequency response.

The voice coil is wound on a 3″ glass fiber former with aluminum wire, minimizing weight for exceptionally fast transient response. With 17.5 mm of winding depth, this inside/outside coil design offers outstanding thermal and mechanical durability.

**Continuous Program Power (RMS) is the maximum power that the speaker can handle considering a regular musical program using our recommended filters, this power can be used to define the optimum amplifier power to provide a clean signal without clipping or saturation.
***Max Peak Power is the maximum power operation for the speaker, this power is allowed just for a few fractions of a second, usually found just on the peaks of the music. Keeping this power for a little longer timer will damage the speaker.
