The SS10-22 is driven by a 2.5" diameter, 4-layer copper voice coil wound on a vented aluminum former. This design maximizes motor strength by placing more conductor in the magnetic gap while the aluminum former conducts heat away from the coil. With extensive venting through the former, spider, pole piece, and cone, the SS10-22 maintains stable performance under heavy loads, minimizing power compression and ensuring reliable operation in demanding systems.

Optimized Motor for Low Distortion

Supporting the voice coil is a massive, FEA-optimized, triple-stacked magnet assembly that produces a strong and symmetrical magnetic field. This motor design allows for identical forward and backward cone movement, keeping distortion exceptionally low even at long excursion. Precision-machined plates with sculpted edges maximize magnetic flux through the gap, while an aluminum shorting sleeve, pole cap, and top plate ring linearize inductance.
