PRV Audio ALTO Series Woofers bring together high fidelity and high output for professionals and enthusiasts alike. Both audio engineers and performing musicians understand that tonal quality can define a performance, whether on stage or in the studio. With this in mind, the Alto Series woofers are designed and voiced to deliver a smooth, natural character while still maintaining dynamic presence and power.

The 12W750A was designed for use in compact ported enclosures, making it an excellent choice when high efficiency and strong output are the priority. This low-frequency midbass driver is carefully voiced to deliver a natural tone with minimal distortion, even at high levels.

To achieve its performance, it incorporates a multi-roll surround, a large raised spider, and a lightweight 2.50″ voice coil combined with a woven-cloth dustcap. This design reduces moving mass, boosts sensitivity, and improves cooling of the voice coil.

Due to strong demand, PRV Audio released an improved version: the 12W800A. Part of the Alto Series, this updated 12″ professional woofer offers greater excursion and higher power handling, providing enhanced output capability and deeper low-frequency impact compared to the original 12W750A.

Recommended Amplifier configurations and crossover points:
4 Speakers – 1x QS3000 at 2 Ohm, 4 speakers in parallel
8 Speakers – 1x QS7000 at 1 Ohm, 8 speakers in parallel

Recommended HPF using PRV Digital Signal Processor DSP when using up to 750 Watts RMS musical power ( without clipping )

  • 125 Hz at 12 dB per octave filter Crossover / BT12
  • 115 Hz at 18 dB per octave filter Crossover / BT18

If you have compression drivers on your system the recommended LPF is 2,000 Hz at 18 dB per octave filter Crossover / BT18 but you may set it lower to blend in better depending on the other components in your system, or you may not use a LPF at low power to take advantage of its high frequency response.

**Continuous Program Power (RMS) is the maximum power that the speaker can handle considering a regular musical program using our recommended filters, this power can be used to define the optimum amplifier power to provide a clean signal without clipping or saturation.
***Max Peak Power is the maximum power operation for the speaker, this power is allowed just for a few fractions of a second, usually found just on the peaks of the music. Keeping this power for a little longer timer will damage the speaker.
