The flat response up to the crossover point makes it easy to pair with your favorite compression driver for reliable and predictable performance out in the field.

Coaxial Bliss
The Dayton Audio PCX12-8 employs an 80-degree conical dispersion horn from behind the screened dustcap. Dayton Audio takes advantage of a coaxial design to bring you better response through the combined range of the woofer and compression driver by aligning the outputs of both drivers so they reach your ears at the same time. This minimizes peaks and nulls in the frequency response created by misaligned sources, and the 80-degree dispersion of the conical horn ensures you preserve high-frequency performance off-axis both vertically and horizontally.
Versatility
When using a coaxial driver in a design, the outputs of each driver appear as a single point in space. This lends itself well to many uses in the home audio and car audio spaces with the ability to use compact and low-profile enclosures when space is at a premium. A QTS value of 0.53 is in the perfect sweet spot to work well in both vented and sealed cabinets.
