PRV Audio crossovers are carefully engineered with a focus on component quality and mechanical durability. They not only deliver great sound but also endure the rigors of transport and live performances. These crossovers include distinctive selectable features:
Woofer Impedance Selection
This setting enables the same crossover to work with 8 or 4 Ohm speakers, including series or parallel combinations, offering a single solution for various cabinet configurations.
Woofer Roll-Off Crossover Adjustment
Some woofers exhibit excessive response at the cutoff frequency and require 12 dB/octave filters, while others have a natural roll-off near the crossover point and perform well with 6 dB/octave filters. PRV's 2DF1800 two-way crossover and 3DF400/1800 three-way crossover allow you to select between these filter slopes.
Speaker Attenuation
Adjust the output level of various speakers within your cabinet using this setting; it aids in achieving a smooth transition from highs to mids to lows—especially beneficial when driver sensitivities differ.
Brightness Adjustment
Many large format compression drivers naturally roll off above 10 kHz. Our brightness adjustment compensates for this by attenuating frequencies below 6 kHz while boosting high-frequency energy, enhancing brightness and definition.
All crossovers come preset from the factory with these adjustments in their default positions for quick and easy installation. However, with some experimentation and fine-tuning, you can significantly enhance the final sound quality of your speaker system.
