Take the Room Out of the Equation

Dirac Live® Room Correction technology brings out the full capability of your loudspeakers, enhancing audio performance across the entire frequency spectrum without the need for upgrades. It automatically calibrates your room using either your smartphone with the included wired microphone or virtually wireless through the Dirac Live PC or MacOS* application with a third-party USB mic (not included). This provides a more precise measurement of your surround system’s placement, delivering a balanced and accurate result with the expanded upper delay time limit, now increased from 20 to 50 milliseconds.

*Device must be connected to the internet and the same network as your AVR

11.2-Channel Processing

The TX-RZ50 supports up to 11.2-channel processing and includes pre-outs for 7.2.4 speaker layouts, making it a strong choice for premium home theater setups that demand immersive surround sound and flexible system expansion.

HDMI 2.1 with 8K

HDMI® 2.1 is the latest version of the HDMI® specification and adds support for eARC, higher video resolutions, and refresh rates such as 8K60 and 4K120, along with Dynamic HDR formats. With 8K, you get a highly immersive viewing experience featuring twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of 4K, and four times the total pixels. Combined with a 60Hz refresh rate, this allows for smooth, sharp playback of fast-moving content. With 8K and eARC, HDMI 2.1 makes sure your system is ready to deliver the clearest and most accurate picture available now and in the future.

Additional Features and Benefits

Ultimate 4K Gaming Experience
4K/120 provides ultra-fast motion UHD images that remain sharp and precise. Sports, action films, and high-performance gaming all gain significant benefits. The TX-RZ50 also supports enhanced performance with streaming devices such as the latest Apple TV.

Discrete Zone 2 HDMI Switching
Enjoy separate Ultra High-Definition entertainment with up to 8K60 resolution* in two rooms through your Onkyo receiver. Watch a movie in the main theater while the kids enjoy cartoons in another space.**8K60 only valid for Zone 1/Zone 2 will only produce 4K120 resolution when two separate HDMI sources are used.

THX Certified
Onkyo became the first consumer home theater brand to receive THX certification in 1993. After undergoing thousands of tests, the THX logo guarantees absolute accuracy, with nothing added or removed from the source material regardless of input or feature combination. The TX-RZ50 includes four distinct THX listening modes: cinema, gaming, music, and surround EX.

IMAX Enhanced Mode
An essential feature of today’s high-end home theater systems, IMAX Enhanced certification brings the immersive audio and video quality of IMAX theaters into your living room. It enables precise object-based audio placement and movement in 3D space, while proprietary algorithms refine video accuracy, contrast, and detail for a lifelike presentation true to the filmmaker’s vision.

Built-In Multi-Zone Streaming and Voice Control
The Onkyo TX-RZ50 9.2-Channel THX® Certified AV Receiver integrates seamlessly into your Smart Home ecosystem, including Apple Airplay, Alexa, Google apps, and more. Stream your favorite content anywhere in the house with up to 8K60 resolution.**
*Requires a third-party AI device with microphone, sold separately
**8K60 is valid only for Zone 1. Zone 2 delivers 4K120 resolution when two different HDMI sources are connected.

Works with Sonos Certified
This Onkyo receiver can connect to your existing Sonos Home Sound System or serve as the foundation of a new one by pairing it with a Sonos Port*. As a Works With Sonos Certified AVR, it offers seamless integration into the Sonos ecosystem, handling wake-up, input changes, and playback volume via the Sonos Volume-Pass Through feature in the Sonos app*. The TX-RZ50 supports up to three Sonos Ports—one for each of three independent zones—each capable of streaming a different service from Sonos Radio.*Sonos Port required and sold separately.

Built-In Streaming Services
Spotify®, TIDAL, Deezer, TuneIn, and Pandora® are preloaded into the system. You can access them using dedicated apps (where available) or the free Onkyo Control App for Apple and Android devices.

Bi-Directional Bluetooth Wireless Technology
This AVR supports both sending and receiving audio through Bluetooth wireless technology. You can stream audio from your device to the receiver using SBC or AAC codecs, or send audio from the AVR to compatible wireless headphones with SBC, aptX™, or aptX HD codecs, including 24-bit playback over aptX HD. With improved data transfer capabilities, the latest generation of Bluetooth ensures clean, reliable sound reproduction that stays true to the original recording.

Ready for DTS Play-Fi
DTS Play-Fi lets you stream high-quality music from online services, media servers, or your device library over Wi-Fi® to multiple compatible products using the Onkyo Music Control App for iPad, iPhone, or Android devices. It can synchronize playback across rooms, while allowing each family member to play their own music in individual spaces. DTS Play-Fi provides a flexible multi-room system designed to meet a wide variety of needs.
