During our research and development process to develop new and interesting loudspeaker concepts one design reigned supreme – OPAL1. This system embodies our commitment to innovation, exclusively incorporating Dayton Audio’s technology, ensuring an audio experience that is both authentic and groundbreaking.

At the heart of the Dayton Audio OPAL1 speaker is a woofer utilizing dual-gap MMAG (Multiple Magnetic Air Gap) technology, allowing for extreme cone excursion, low distortion, and high power handling. Its stiff yet lightweight carbon fiber cone and engineered surround profile ensure smooth midrange performance, a rare feat for a 5.5” woofer. The top octaves are managed by Dayton Audio's premier silk dome tweeter, featuring a coated silk dome and vented aluminum voice coil former for increased power handling and reduced distortion. The tweeter and woofer are seamlessly integrated by an asymmetric crossover centered at 2,300Hz, producing a smooth, non-fatiguing, and ultra-transparent sound. The OPAL1's performance defies its compact size, offering sound quality typically found in larger tower speakers.

The bass extension of OPAL1 comes from the use of a pair of passive radiators on the rear of the enclosure. These allow for ultra-low frequency extension in a small package, besting many 6-1/2” or 8” bookshelf speakers, or even small towers. With a footprint of less than 67 square inches, OPAL1 is capable of average in-room extension nearing 30 Hz. This means in many applications these speakers can create room-filling bass without the need of a separate subwoofer. With an RMS power handling of 200 watts, they can achieve output capability beyond most bookshelf speakers of this size.

The Class AB topology of the A400 provides a 100dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio for cleaner, crisper sound, with a remarkably low %0.05 THD+N while providing up to 300W RMS per channel at 4 Ohms (600W Peak). For higher-powered use, the A400 can be bridged with the ability to deliver 500W RMS mono at 8ohms with %0.01 THD+N.

Audtek 14 AWG 6ft Professional Grade Braided Speaker Cable Pair

Using Audtek’s speaker cable with gold plated banana plugs eliminates the hassle of unscrewing binding posts, stripping wires, and retightening. It solves the problem of closely spaced dual binding posts that are difficult to access and binding posts without a hole in the shaft for bare wires. This setup prevents the wire from slipping out during tightening, ensuring a high-quality connection every time and avoiding unnecessary aggravation.

Audtek banana plug 14 AWG speaker cable’s design delivers the ultimate in high quality performance. Each conductor has 16 layers of 7/34 gauge OFC strands twisted around each other to keep the signal constant all the way to your speakers. The gold-plated banana plugs ensure a consistent electrical connection and their set screws combined with heat shrink secure the wire inside the plugs. The polypropylene weave prevents accidental damage to the cable’s black PVC outer jacket while the cable pants protect the black and red inner conductor’s PVC insulators that spit into each individual banana plug.
