Pocket Sized 2 x 30W Bluetooth/Media Player Hi-Fi Amplifier with Wireless Remote Project

This kit includes everything you need to build a 30W/channel stereo Bluetooth/USB multimedia player amplifier with wireless remote control without breaking the bank. Make a few holes and use a little solder and you'll be cranking up the music in no time. Pull out those old bookshelf speakers or design a new set with a 3-D printer and Dayton Audio speakers. The Bluetooth range is now 120 ft. instead of 30 ft. and the built-in USB port plays MP3 on thumb drives plus charges a smartphone.

The small size enables you to carry it around and hook-up quickly to speakers, or use it with exciters for hidden sound in a room to impress your friends. The kit includes an ultra-thin IR remote that controls it all when not using a smartphone. It has functions repeat, volume, EQ, pause, next and previous, and mute when needed. Velcro the amps remote to the side of the enclosure so you'll always know where to find it.

The kit includes a 16.5 VDC 2.5A adapter which works best for 8 ohm speakers. Use 12 to 15 VDC adapters with 4 ohm speakers. The Bluetooth amp kit uses the same tip positive DC coax plug as the original Echo and Google home smart speaker, and radar detectors if you want to play it in the car. The places are limitless where this amplifier kit works.

Preparing the Project Box

Let's start by mounting the amp board into the translucent blue project box. You'll need a 9/32", 7/32" drill bit and a small Dremel with a small saw bit or a Nibbling tool (360-022). Follow the attached spec drawing for hole locations. If you don't have a Dremel for the USB port and speaker terminal holes, use a 9/32" drill bit for the speaker terminals and a 7/32" bit with nibbling tool for the USB port starting in the center and work in both directions until you get the hole to the correct dimensions. It's okay if the USB port's cutout is slightly larger. This gives enough ventilation to keep the board cool when playing at room temperature. Insert the board and the speaker wire spring terminals and use the volume shaft nut to secure the board and the two screws to secure the four port speaker terminal.

Connecting the Wires

Make your speaker wires 3" long and solder them to the spring terminals. Split the zip cord and make your power wires 1" long. Mount the DC jack with the included nut and then solder the red wire to the long positive post and the black wire to the little side post. Solder the other end or the red positive wire to the middle terminal on the switch. Solder another red wire to the outer post on the switch. Mount the switch with the included hardware and insert the power wires into the corresponding DC phoenix terminals, red plus and black minus. Next insert the speaker wires into the corresponding phoenix terminals left and right. Push the slack in the wires into box and make sure all wire connections stay secure.
