B&C 14CXN88-4 14" Professional Neodymium Coaxial Speaker 80 x 80 Degree 4 OhmB&C Speakers' 14CXN88-4 14" coaxial driver combines a powerful woofer and high output horn tweeter into a convenient compact package. By using a massive neodymium motor, B&C allowed enough space to use a huge 3-1/2" voice coil on the woofer to make it possible to fit a powerful compression driver with a 3" titanium diaphragm. This construction gives the 14CXN88-4 the ability to deliver high output full-range response with incredibly low distortion.
The low frequency driver portion of the 14CXN88-4 has the power handling and excursion capability to produces powerful bass with the natural midrange response you expect from B&C drivers. The huge 3-1/2" voice coil is wound on a glass fiber former to handle 500 watts RMS (1,000 watts peak). The high power handling combined with 99 dB sensitivity (2V/1m) gives the woofer amazing output capability. Also, with over 17 mm of peak-to-peak excursion capability, the 14CXN88-4 can move a lot of air for powerful bass response and impact. Finally, the naturally damped paper cone produces smooth response and even has a waterproof coating for use in less than ideal situations.
The 14CXN88-4's high frequency assembly has been engineered to be an ideal match for the woofer. The 3" titanium dome produces extremely wide frequency response, making for an easy transition to the woofer. At 103 dB efficient (2V/1m) the high frequency unit only needs a small amount of attenuation to properly match up with the low frequency driver for flat response. It's controlled 80° conical dispersion pattern is perfect for filling a large area with sound while minimizing unwanted reflections. All of this makes the 14CXN88-4 one of the most capable coaxial drivers on the market.
