Overview
Quickly create a new 12 VDC audio project built around the Yamaha YDA138-E amp chip. It delivers quality sound to most bookshelf speakers and has all the jacks ready to accept all external components without any soldering. It fits nicely in Hammond's 320-733 project box by drilling a few holes. Control the volume with the built-in potentiometer or plug your smartphone into the Aux-in jack and use an App to control volume and tone. The only tool you need to finish is a small slot screw driver to tighten down the speaker wires. Plug a 12 VDC 2A AC adapter into the 2.1 x 5.5mm tip positive power jack and crank it up.
There's still one more option that most small amp boards don't have. A 3.5mm stereo headphone jack the kicks out the speaker output for private listening. Pull out your best headphones and hook up your favorite audio component player or use it as a headphone amplifier for multiple headphones.
