Onkyo expands on the success of the A-9010 pre-main amplifier with the introduction of the A-9110 Integrated Stereo Amplifier, refining a design that earned strong acclaim for its dynamic, musical performance. Its warm, expressive tuning delivers lively dynamics, deep bass, and layered detail. WRAT technology provides high-current power stability through large custom capacitors, while low-NFB amps preserve the depth and spatial quality of analog and high-resolution recordings. Five RCA inputs, including an MM phono stage, accommodate a variety of sources, while robust speaker terminals highlight Onkyo’s hi-fi heritage and dedication to quality craftsmanship.

Stable high-current power with wide-range amplifiers

Dynamic shifts in music cause impedance to vary, and if power delivery fails when impedance drops, sound quality suffers. Onkyo addresses this with WRAT, which incorporates a high-output EI transformer, large custom audio capacitors, and carefully chosen high-grade components. This stability in current allows precise control of speaker drivers for accurate reproduction of dynamic passages. Additionally, the A-9110 employs Onkyo's proven low-negative-feedback amplifier design, emphasizing the warmth, fullness, and vibrancy of recordings. The circuitry captures an extended frequency range with exceptionally low distortion. 

Clearer sound at low volumes

At low listening levels, signals often approach the noise floor of the component, which introduces noise and results in muddled audio. The A-9110 counters this with Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry, a volume design requiring less than half the usual attenuation. By keeping the signal well above the noise floor, music remains clear and detailed even at low volumes.

Phase Matching Bass Boost for low-level listening

Standard loudness controls on many amplifiers enhance low-mid frequencies but often introduce phase shift, diminishing vocal clarity. Onkyo’s Phase Matching Bass Boost avoids this by eliminating phase shift between low and mid frequencies above 300 Hz. This results in stronger bass presence without compromising vocal definition, particularly beneficial when playing music softly where bass and highs are harder to hear. 

Thick and rigid chassis reduces resonance

All hi-fi components generate electromechanical resonance, which manifests as signal noise and affects audio quality. To counter this, the A-9110 is built with a rigid metal chassis that is 1.3 times thicker than that of the A-9010 at 1/16" (1.6 mm). Alongside large, wide-spaced insulators, this design effectively suppresses unwanted resonance, ensuring cleaner and more stable sound output.
