The KABT-250 delivers powerful, high-fidelity sound, supporting both stereo and bridged mono configurations. Whether you're driving a pair of speakers (2 x 50W at 4Ω) or a high-output mono speaker (100W at 2Ω), this amplifier ensures dynamic range, clarity, and punchy bass. Class-D efficiency TPA3116 chip keeps heat low and power usage minimal, making it ideal for portable setups and energy-conscious projects.

True Wireless Stereo (TWS) & Multi-Speaker Sync

Cut the cords and enjoy truly wireless audio with TWS support. Thanks to the BTM983H Bluetooth chip the KABT-250 can pair with a second unit to create a left-right stereo setup or connect to up to 256 amplifiers in Party Mode, syncing audio across an entire event space. When syncing multiple boards, the master board pairs with your Bluetooth device and the other boards will be in slave mode to the master board. Slave boards will have about 30 foot range from the master boards with the external antenna attached to all boards. No speaker wires needed—just power each unit separately and enjoy a seamless wireless audio network.

DSP Customization for Ultimate Control

The BTM983H chip also has built-in digital signal processing (DSP) that unlocks precise audio tuning, including custom EQs, crossover adjustments, bass boosts, and noise suppression. Program your sound profile with the Dayton Audio KPX (sold separately) and free Dayton Audio KABX software, ensuring every speaker sounds exactly how you want it. Whether you’re fine-tuning a subwoofer crossover or optimizing vocals for audiophile-grade clarity, the KABT-250 puts sound shaping at your fingertips.

Multiple Input & Output Options

The KABT-250 gives you flexibility with Bluetooth 5.0 streaming, a built-in 3.5mm AUX jack, and an optional external 3.5mm wiring harness. Even in TWS mode, you can wirelessly transmit an analog signal like a record player, TV, or computer to paired units, making it easy to distribute audio across multiple amplifiers. For output, it supports speakers as low as 2Ω in mono mode and 4Ω in stereo, making it compatible with a wide range of speaker designs.

The KABT-250 is still plug-n-play like all other KAB style boards and has the same footprint. The board includes the power input cable, speaker wiring harness, Bluetooth pairing button and external antenna. We have a specific function kit KABT-SFC (sold separately) that increases functionality, if needed, to finish your project.

Bluetooth and Multiple Board Pairing Instructions

Standard Pairing - With the board powered on the Blue light flashes searching for you Bluetooth device. Make sure your Bluetooth device is in search mode and select DAKABT when it shows up. The Blue light stops flashing when paired to your Bluetooth device. If the board flashes Blue and Yellow hold the pairing button down until it flashes just Blue. Repeat the above directions.

 Multipoint and TWS Pairing – While paired with your Bluetooth device press the pairing button quickly two times on the Master board. One LED will be blue and the other LED flashes yellow. Press the Slave boards pairing button quickly one time and the Slave LED will turn solid yellow. Follow the same procedure if you want to add another Slave board. When the boards are unplugged, you must press the pairing button one time on the Master board to pair with the slave when power is restored. All Slave boards must be within 30 ft. of the Master board. If the Slave board's yellow LED flashes that means it's not paired with the Master board and must get closer to the Master board.

KABX Integration on KAB Amplifier Boards

While your KABT amplifier sounds great out of the box, the KABX DSP Control software when combined with a KPX programmer offers extensive DSP customization with no experience required. The free software provides simple control of 10 band of PEQ, High Pass Filters, Low Pass Filters, Compressor / Limiters, Bass Effects and more. KPX Programmer connection is only needed temporarily, DSP presets can be saved to the KABT amplifier itself and the programmer can be removed. This also means that one programmer can program as many amplifiers as needed.

What do I need to connect my KABT Amplifier to KABX?

Optional Function Cables

Use the KABT-SFC cables to customize any Dayton Audio KAB project. This five-cable kit comes equipped with JST PH 2.0 type connectors for easy termination to the board.

• The 20" AUX-in cable with 3.5 mm jack feeds music from any analog source directly to the KABT-250 board, enabling audio play from almost any non-Bluetooth source.

• The 8" volume control with cable lets you manually control sound levels, and mounts into a 0.3" hole. Remove the jumpers to install the volume control. Store the jumpers in case you want to remove the volume control. You must reinstall the jumpers if you remove the volume control.

• The 8" battery cable is for portable projects where AC or 12 VDC car power are not available. Use this for alternative power input between 12 and 24 VDC. 

• Using the 8" on/off power cable cuts power to the entire board, mute option, or standby function. An optional switches are needed to accomplish these functions.

• The 20" LED wiring harness enables you to externally see the Blue and Yellow LED lights for pairing status.

Optional Li-Ion Battery Charging Board

The Dayton Audio LBB-3v2 Li-Ion battery charging board holds three 18650 batteries (sold separately). This charging board has built in under/over voltage protection circuits for safe charging and longevity. It balances different voltage between batteries in case one battery discharges faster than the others. A 19 VDC, 1-5A power adapter works best for charging batteries contained in this board, but it will charge with 5 to 24 VDC power.

Please note: When removing batteries from the LBB-3v2, the charging adapter must be plugged in momentarily after the new batteries have been inserted. Failing to do so will prevent the amp board from powering up.

Optional L-type Aluminum Bracket

It can be quite difficult to install the audio amplifier board into tight spaces such as portable sound applications. To securely mount the KAB-250v4 board and improve space efficiency Dayton Audio offers the KAB-AB; an optional L-type aluminum bracket. This aluminum bracket supports vertical and horizontal mounting configurations to satisfy different installation requirements. With four M3.5 screw lock standoffs, any Dayton Audio KAB board installs easily on the bracket using the four included security screws. Two M3.5 holes and seven slots give you the versatility to mount the L-type bracket to your project as needed.

Optional Standoff Kit

The PC Board M3 Standoff Kit is perfect for stacking multiple PC boards that are the same size, like the a KAB amp board on top of the KAB-BE battery board. Stacking PC boards enables you to use a smaller project box to install your project in. These standoffs will secure a single PC board, or a stack, if you use it with KAB-AB mounting bracket. They both use the same M3 thread. The kit features eight 16mm studs, eight 10mm studs, and 4 Phillips screws.

High Performance Power Supply

To meet the wattage output as listed in the specifications, using a 24V 5A DC Switching Power Supply is recommended. The power supply accepts inputs 100-240 VAC. Approved/listed by all major safety agencies; UL, CUL, and CE. Features a 5 ft. detachable input cord with a 2.5mm x 5.5mm x 9mm, center positive connector. This power supply can also be used with the KAB-BE.
