About the Cabinet
This particular cabinet is designed specifically for the Dayton Audio RSS315HO-4 12" Reference Series High Output subwoofer, but works for any subwoofer with an overall diameter of 12-3/8" or less, and a cutout requirement of 11-1/8" or less. For optimum performance, the cabinet is oversized to allow for the use of a plate amplifier with bass boost (such as the Dayton Audio SPA250 or Dayton Audio SPA500 plate amplifiers) to extend the frequency response while staying musical.
During the CNC manufacturing process, rabbets dadoes are cut into the back and side panels ensuring precise alignment. A unique interlocking two-piece brace adds superior rigidity without affecting the subwoofer's performance. In addition, the initial baffle includes rabbets and dadoes ensuring perfect installation of the first part of the two-part, double thick baffle. Plate amplifier installation is made easy by following the scribed interior guide with a jig saw.
The end result is a resonance-free, sealed subwoofer cabinet that is purpose-built to extract the best performance from Dayton Audio's 12" Reference Series High Output subwoofer. All that's left to do is finish it to match your décor or paint it to stand out. When your friends ask about it, you get the pleasure of saying, "I built it myself!"

About the Subwoofer
The Dayton Audio Reference Series subwoofers take the quality and performance of the much acclaimed RS line into the subwoofer realm. As with the rest of the Reference Series, the main focus of these subwoofers is ultra-low-distortion. Second, third, and intermodulation distortion are kept extremely low by utilizing three short-circuit paths within the motor structure.
A durable aramid fiber spider and extensive venting throughout provide quiet and uniform excursion. The black anodized cone, rubber surround, and custom basket give this driver a unique, high-end look. Choose the high output version for automotive applications or for equalized high-power home subwoofers.
