Dayton Audio 10" Reference Series HO Subwoofer and Cabinet Bundle 600 Watts
About the Cabinet
This particular cabinet is designed specifically for the Dayton Audio 10" Reference Series High Output subwoofer, but works for any subwoofer with an overall diameter of 10-9/16" or less, and a cutout requirement of 9-1/4" or less. The larger than optimal sealed enclosure design, when used with the Dayton Audio RSS265HO-4, mates extremely well with the Dayton Audio SPA250 plate amplifier with boost set to on, or the Dayton Audio SPA500 (with the parametric EQ set to 32 Hz, bandwidth set to 1, and level set to +6). This allows for an extremely low f3 without the "one-note-bass" droning typically found with bass boosted sealed subwoofers.
During the CNC manufacturing process, rabbets dadoes are cut into the back and side panels ensuring precise alignment. A unique interlocking two-piece brace adds superior rigidity without affecting the subwoofer's performance. In addition, the initial baffle includes rabbets and dadoes ensuring perfect installation of the first part of the two-part, double thick baffle. Plate amplifier installation is made easy by following the scribed interior guide with a jig saw (scribed amplifier cutout is for the Dayton Audio SPA500 or SPA250).
The end result is a resonance-free, sealed subwoofer cabinet that is purpose-built to extract the best performance from Dayton Audio's 10" High Output Reference Series subwoofer. All that's left to do is finish it to match your décor or paint it to stand out. When your friends ask about it, you get the pleasure of saying, "I built it myself!"

About the Subwoofer
As with the rest of the Reference Series, the main focus of the Dayton Audio RSS265HO-4 10" subwoofer is ultra-low-distortion. Second, third, and intemodulation distortion are kept extremely low by utilizing three short-circuit paths within the motor structure. A durable aramid fiber spider and extensive venting throughout provide quiet and uniform excursion. The black anodized cone, rubber surround, and custom basket give this 10" driver a unique, high-end look. Choose the high output version for automotive applications or for equalized high-power home subwoofer speaker systems.
