The ideal system for desks, offices, and bedrooms, our 2.1 channel powered Copperhead with 6-1/2" mini-subwoofer speaker kit is an incredibly convenient self-contained package. This system will provide audiophile quality sound, pinpoint imaging, and powerful output capability for an unbeatable value. Designed in-house by Dayton Audio engineers, this system was created specifically for use on a desktop to produce incredible sound without taking up a ton of space.
Each Copperhead uses a single Dayton Audio PS95-8 3-1/2" full-range driver to cover the entire audio spectrum. This popular driver features a lightweight, curved-profile paper cone made of 100% natural fibers, for dynamic and articulate sound that extends from a punchy, detailed bass to the highest treble. The compact 3-1/2" size enables a balance of great sonic performance and wide dispersion. Its copper-anodized aluminum phase plug is more than just beautiful - it provides enhanced dispersion and eliminates the resonance from a conventional dust cap. In addition, the optimized, high-strength ferrite magnet structure features a copper pole cap that reduces resolution-sapping inductance and lowers distortion. Dayton Audio's smallest Point Source series full-range driver isn't small on engineering, or performance.
The locally sourced 1/2" MDF enclosure panels are all CNC milled for tight tolerances ensuring easy enclosure assembly. Their unique design will optimize the performance of the PS95-8 while taking up minimal space. With an angled front baffle, the Copperheads provide on-axis response when placed on a desktop to ensure the even the highest frequencies reach your ears. The bottom port design allows you to position the enclosures almost anywhere without having a major effect to low frequency response, even right against a wall. The rabbeted and dadoed panels make assemble easy, requiring only a few small clamps for a perfect fit.
Dayton Audio's rugged DCS165-4 6-1/2"subwoofer driver has all of the performance-enhancing attributes you would expect from a larger high-output subwoofer. With a vented pole piece and 4 ohm, 4-layer voice coil, this driver can handle up 100 watts RMS. The non-pressed paper cone is reinforced with Kevlar to increase stiffness, which promotes linear travel through the limits of its excursion. In addition, the pole piece includes a copper cap that keeps inductance to a minimum.
The stylish vented enclosure provides heart thumping bass and in-room extension to below 40 Hz. With adjustable tuning capability, this kit can be dialed in to match your system’s needs. This subwoofer takes up less than 1 square foot of floor space but still has the capability to deliver impressive output levels. The integrated legs elevate the enclosure to provide ample clearance and breathing room for the driver even in thick carpet. The sleek design includes round overs on each vertical corner making it easy to finish the enclosure to fit into any décor.
The straightforward features make the Lepai LP210PA extremely easy to connect and setup. Input is handled through stereo RCA connectors. For the power outputs, there is a Phoenix connector on the back of the amplifier to connect directly to your subwoofer driver, along with binding posts on the front of the plate for simple connection to a pair of separate satellite speakers. The adjustable subwoofer volume, crossover frequency, and main speaker volume makes it easy to create a smooth transition between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. In addition, this amplifier includes a unique channel selection switch, which allow you to turn off the satellite speakers and run just the subwoofer by itself allowing you to run separate powered satellites from the stereo RCA pass through outputs.
Note: This package comes with everything required to build and hook up a complete powered subwoofer/satellite 2.1 speaker system. Including pre-cut enclosures, drivers, filter network components, plate amplifier, mounting screws, speaker wire, and 6' 3.5 mm-to-RCA adaptor cable.
