ButtKicker Advance Transducer
ButtKicker's BK4-4 Advance low frequency audio transducers are the mid-sized version of the BK-LFE tactile transducer that has received with rave reviews around the world since they were introduced in late 1999! Instead of using the traditional voice coil design of most tactile transducers, ButtKicker transducers are built using a revolutionary, patented magnetically suspended piston design.
Not only does this design create more accurate low frequency effects (drummers swear by them for monitoring), it also lasts longer! The magnetically suspended piston design pushes the resonant frequency of each ButtKicker transducer down to an ultra-low 9 Hz, allowing for a truly infrasonic, and usable, frequency range of 5 to 200 Hz! While other transducers produce their peak output at 60 to 80 Hz, ButtKickers are still going strong up to three octaves lower.
BASH® Amplifier
The ButtKicker BKA300-4 tabletop digital power amplifier is specifically designed as the perfect power partner for BK4-4 Advance ButtKicker transducers. Awesome features include: 2-ohm stability, variable 40 to 160 Hz low pass filter, 5-way binding post terminals, a wireless infrared remote control with intensity control and three preset EQ settings (Movies, Music, and Games), IR in/out for daisy-chained amplifier control, and a 2.4 GHz ISM-band wireless audio transmit/receive system that has an approximate range of 30 ft.
A Class D amplifier topology, with BASH® technology, was chosen for the BKA300-4 to keep efficiency high, and for its ability to be convection cooled with no need for a noisy fan. One LFE RCA audio input, with 100 mV sensitivity, is paralleled to an RCA audio output for daisy-chaining amplifiers or connecting powered subwoofers.
And That's Not All!
To make installation quick and painless, ButtKicker includes a 1 meter RCA male-to-male cable, a speaker-level interface adapter, 20 ft. for 14 AWG speaker wire terminated with banana plugs, and a BK4-CMAK furniture mounting kit with hardware and isolators.
Note: ButtKicker transducers are able to operate at any angle. For the best possible output, with the lowest possible distortion, it is recommended that ButtKicker transducers be mounted in their vertical, upright position. The amplifier is designed to be used with either 120 or 240 VAC power systems using the rear-mounted voltage selection switch. Ground loops can occur if this amplifier is connected to an ungrounded source. If you experience a ground loop, please use the groud loop isolator in the Related Items section.
