Product Details

Yung SD200 200W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost

Yung International's SD Series Class D subwoofer power amplifiers are equipped with the unique ability to operate continuously at full rated output—a performance attribute not shared by most home audio amp designs. The benefits of this remarkable reserve capacity include solid, punchy dynamic range and fewer "nuisance" shutdowns when operated at sustained high levels.

The amplifiers are also extremely compact, lightweight, and cool-running, allowing users to enjoy the advantages of compact system form factors and flexibility of placement. An internal peak limiting circuit prevents amplifier overload, and protection against internal and external faults is also provided. Input power requirements are user configurable to either 115 VAC or 230 VAC line voltage.

Room optimization and system integration are accomplished easily, thanks to the SD Series amps' inclusion of fully variable level, crossover frequency, and phase controls. Signal input is connected via dual RCA-type jacks, including the means to accept the output of an A/V receiver's LFE output, and dual RCA jacks are also provided to facilitate line level loop-through. When in standby mode, the amp's full active operation is engaged by signal presence of less than 1/2 watt.

Specifications: • Measured power output: 200 watts RMS into 4 ohms @ < 1.0% THD • Signal to noise ratio (at rated power): >90 dB • Input sensitivity (@ low level): 210 mV/50 Hz • Low pass adjustment: 40 Hz to 200 Hz • Phase adjustment: Continuously variable from 0º (normal) to 180º (reverse) • Power requirements: Switchable, 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz • Dimensions: 8" W x 7" H x 2-1/4" D; Cutout dimensions: 7-1/4" W x 6-1/4" H.

Yung SD200 200W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost
Yung SD200 200W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost is rated 4.6667 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy fit and seems to match the performance of OEMJust bought this amp to replace the amp in my 12" Cerwin-Vega. Mis the remote volume feature but that's about the only real negative I can make. I only had to trim about 3/8" off the main plate opening and it dropped right in. You have to be careful in centering it in the modified opening but it's no big deal. The basic volume setting seems to be about the same or a little less even though the original amp was rated @ 150 watts into what I think is a 8 ohm speaker but it might well be less based on the way this amp performs. Really like the variable phase control and the instant on feature works like a champ with my Marantz NR1403 AV Surround Receiver. My basic speaker system are Orbs but even though the included powered sub rocks you can never have too much good base as far as I am concerned. The build quality seems very good and I feel Taiwan can make good stuff so I am not surprised. After putting up with the ever rising hum from the old amp plate it wonderful to have complete silence when listening to music of various sorts. If you have old 12" Cerwin- Vega sub don't let the perceived potential for a possible power deficit I sure haven't noticed it if anything it seems a little stronger sounding. Shipping was first class with the added protection of double boxing. Well done Parts Express!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance and valueThe amp in my Polk Audio PSW110 died. I was tempted to upgrade to a better subwoofer but I gave this amp a try because of the very attractive price. I had to widen the opening a little but that was no big deal. Once that was done, the rest took me no more than 15 minutes to complete. This amp is significantly more powerful (200 W vs 70 W), the bass extension was immediately obvious. Getting proper settings (frequency, phase, volume) took many hours, which was expected. In the end, I am quite happy with the performance. I think the best feature is the availability of the continuous phase adjustment. Most cheaper subwoofers don't have this option of continuous phase adjustment, only 0 or 180 available. In my case, it turns out 110 is about optimal. I cannot over emphasized enough the importance of proper settings, otherwise, it can indeed sound thin or boomy.I am not a big bass fan; I just want a subwoofer to complement the main speakers for mainly music. I don't need the subwoofer to shake the floor for movies, but the performance is respectable if the volume is turned up.So far so good, I do have a minor complaint. The speaker connectors have different sizes. One of them is smaller such that it does not match the speaker connector. I had to replace it with the proper size connector. Not a major pain but irritation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Replacement Sub for JBL PB-12I don't know how long it will last, but the Yung 200 watt I bought from Parts Express sounds at least as good as the original JBL amp in my PB-12. There were no problems mounting the new amp and it started right up. The only thing that could be improved is the clearance between the electronics and the edge of the mounting plate. It could be a little more, but it still was not a problem. The price was very attractive, and overall I am very pleased with the Yung and Parts Express.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for Infinity BU-120Had my third failure with my BU-120. Was not going to get in repaired again. Saw the dimensions on this SD200 was similar. Took my dremel and removed 1/8 - 1/4" from the height opening on the BU-120 box unit and replaced the speaker connectors so they would match up to the SD200 amp. Drilled new mounting holes and my subwoofer was up and running in <45 minutes. Shipping was fast plus the sound and performance quality met my expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice unit!I bought this to replace a plate amplifier in a JBL ES150 ported 10" front firing sub that had fried itself. The Yung was smaller in size and less RMS wattage than the original amplifier. I had to craft a wooden adaptor plate to make the Yung fit, and I mounted it sideways. Anyway, very pleased with amplifier and the outcome of the efforts. Tight bass, very punchy and the 200wat rms output is plenty for my purposes. I'd love to build another sub with this unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great replacement for the Infinity BU-120 sub ampI have used it about a week to replace a defective amp on Infinity BU120 subwoofer. It fit cabinet with minimum modification to cabinet and sounds as good or better than factory amp. Runs cool.

Will it drive 8 ohm subs?

Asked by: 007aftershock
Yes.

Can I somehow bypass auto on/off (permanent on)? It looses signal (green light is still on). If I reconnect audio input it works again. If I reconnect main power it reads the signal again. Sometimes it works OK for hours.

Asked by: Kangaroo
Unfortunately the auto-on feature is not able to be bypassed. If the amplifier is shutting off at low volumes, try boosting the subwoofer output on the receiver and compensating by turning the gain down on the amplifier.

Is this amp stable at 2 ohms? I am thinking of using it to drive two 4 ohm bass shakers in parallel. I know I can wire the shakers in series for an 8 ohm load, but that halves the output power.

Asked by: ebsebs
This amplifier is only stable down to 4 ohms. A 2 ohm load can damage it.

I am replacing A amp from A RCA 200 watt sub-woofer  will this amp work for A placement

Asked by: slipknot
The enclosure will probably require modifications in order for the new amp to fit, but if this is something you are able to do and the original woofer is 4 ohms this will work well.

Considering the type low pass filter in this amp, is there any advantage (or possible disadvantage) in using an Impedance Equalization Circuit on the sub driver? I'm intending to use the 10" DCS255-4 in a TL cabinet.

Asked by: BOBinMIZZU
Even at the highest crossover setting there would be no advantage to an impedance EQ circuit on a subwoofer like this.
