Velleman Compact Universal DC Adapter Power Supply
Would this charge an HP Laptop computer? I like the design of this a lot more than that horrible giant "brick" that comes with the computer.
Also, I need to be able to store spare chargers in 2 more locations, so I don't have to haul around chargers and extension cords when taking computer with me. Thank you for any information you can provide.
No, this would not work unfortunately. This power supply can only provide a maximum of 10 watts. Laptops usually need power supplies that can deliver at the very minimum 50W. Some high-performance laptops need as much as 120W.As a general rule, the more power you need from a power supply, the larger the power supply has to be. Laptop power supplies these days are about as small as they can possibly be without severely compromising the quality of the supply. So, you'll have to stick with either your OEM power supply or get a 3rd-party supply that can deliver as much as (or more) power as your OEM supply. Check your OEM power supply to see how what voltage it puts out, and its maximum current rating. When/if getting a 3rd-party supply, make sure it puts out the same voltage, and is capable of the same amount of current.

I have a device that needs 4.5 VDC 800mA output. Is this universal DC adapter suitable since the mA output is 2000?
Yes this will work perfectly fine for that application.

Is the output "clean" DC with minimum ripple? My application is for a wireless audio transmitter to substitute for batteries.Other apapters have too much "Hum" in the output.
I'm thinking this would not be suitable. As several other people have already stated in their reviews that there was a lot of noise when used with a radio.
