Dayton Audio 15" DVC Subwoofer and Cabinet Bundle

Buy this 3.0 cubic foot knock-down cabinet together with the Dayton Audio DVC385-88 15" subwoofer (at regular price) and save half off the original price of the cabinet. That's a savings of over $60!

About the Cabinet

This particular cabinet is designed specifically for the Dayton Audio DVC385-88 15" DVC subwoofer, but works for any subwoofer with an overall diameter of 15-1/4" or less, and a cutout requirement of 14" or less. You can dial in performance from a Qtc of 0.632 with minimal fill for an f3 of 41 Hz, or add three pounds of Acousta-Stuf for a critically damped Qtc of 0.583 with an f3 of 44 Hz.

During the CNC manufacturing process, rabbets and dadoes are cut into the back panel for precise panel alignment. A unique two-piece brace adds superior rigidity without affecting the subwoofer's performance. Both side panels feature 3/4" rabbeted extensions with recesses to perfectly install the first piece of the two-part, double thick baffle. Plate amplifier installation is made easy by following the scribed interior guide with a jig saw and by modifying one of the braces.

The end result is a resonance-free, sealed subwoofer cabinet that is purpose-built to extract the best performance from Dayton Audio's 15" DVC subwoofer. All that's left to do is finish it to match your décor or paint it to stand out. When your friends ask about it, you get the pleasure of saying, "I built it myself!"

Dayton Audio 15" DVC Subwoofer and Cabinet Bundle
Dayton Audio 15" DVC Subwoofer and Cabinet Bundle is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to build and sounds greatI found the box easy to build and finish and the speaker to sound really good. It doesn't go as loud as my other sub   but it'll shake things on a different floor of the house without too much trouble and it was about a zillion times easier to build.

what is the fz range of the cab with a Dayton 250? Can you port the cab and get a response below 20hz at a meaningful dB?

Asked by: Dumas2357
The F3 sealed is 42 Hz with usable output down to about 22 Hz. Porting is possible if you can properly fit the port. A 4" diameter, 20" long port will tune it to 22 Hz.

What (passive) crossover would you recommend, so as not to send high frequencies to the sub? (I'll be running this off a 200 watt power amp). Thanks!

Asked by: ChopperCharles
Something like the low pass below will work well for this application.

What plate amplifiers would you recommend for this kit?  I would like to tackle this project in stages.  I would like first to buy a plate amplifier to experiment with an old BSR 15" (DAK) passive subwoofer with cabinet, which is in good shape.

Asked by: Richard34
A good amplifier for this setup would be our Dayton SPA250 which you can see below.
