Yung SD200-6 200W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module with 6 dB at 35 Hz

Yung International's SD Series Class D subwoofer power amplifiers are equipped with the unique ability to operate continuously at full rated output—a performance attribute not shared by most home audio amp designs. The benefits of this remarkable reserve capacity include solid, punchy dynamic range and fewer "nuisance" shutdowns when operated at sustained high levels. 6 dB bass boost centered at 35 Hz makes this amplifier perfect for sealed enclosures and even certain vented box alignments.

The amplifiers are also extremely compact, lightweight, and cool-running, allowing users to enjoy the advantages of compact system form factors and flexibility of placement. An internal peak limiting circuit prevents amplifier overload, and protection against internal and external faults is also provided. Input power requirements are user configurable to either 115 VAC or 230 VAC line voltage.

Room optimization and system integration are accomplished easily, thanks to the SD Series amps' inclusion of fully variable level, crossover frequency, and phase controls. Signal input is connected via dual RCA-type jacks, including the means to accept the output of an A/V receiver's LFE output, and dual RCA jacks are also provided to facilitate line level loop-through. When in standby mode, the amp's full active operation is engaged by signal presence of less than 1/2 watt.

Specifications: • Measured power output: 200 watts RMS into 4 ohms @ < 1.0% THD • Signal to noise ratio (at rated power): >90 dB • Input sensitivity (@ low level): 210 mV/50 Hz • Bass boost: 6 dB @ 35 Hz • Low pass adjustment: 40 Hz to 200 Hz • Phase adjustment: Continuously variable from 0º (normal) to 180º (reverse) • Power requirements: Switchable, 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz • Dimensions: 8" W x 7" H x 2-1/4" D; Cutout dimensions: 7-1/4" W x 6-1/4" H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yung SD 200 plate ampI had a JBL PB12 with a bad amp. I called Parts Express and their tech and sales staff were very helpful. I ordered the amp, cut a new hole in the cabinet with a jig saw and screwed the plate amp on - it could not have been easier. I just left the old amp in place and cut off the power cord - and located the new amp on the other side of the cabinet to avoid the port and baffle. The order came timely and the product works great. I love it when things work out like that! The sub sounds better than it did with the original amp and there seems to be plenty of power - no popping noise when you turn it on like the old amp. I have heard that the early JBL subs often had problems with the plate amps, so if you have one (or even if you can find one cheap on ebay) for about $100 you can replace the amp and have a powerful sub.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from replacement unitI needed to replace a klipsch 12 amp that went bad. This unitworks very well and so far is doing a great job. I had to modify the box for a fit as it is a little shorter than the klipsch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't seem powerful enough, but maybe enough for someI tried this out to replace an internally humming amp in an older AudioSource SW-4 powered sub from the mid 90's.This amp works fine, almost as expected. At the same time, I wanted to replace the older 12" driver with something more modern, as the 6Db boost made the older driver sound a bit muddy. I went with the Infinity 4 Ohm 12" 1260w after very good reviews of that driver. This amp did not seem to drive the 1260w as much as I had hoped. I have an optimal enclosure sealed and polyfill, but just did not deliver. I returned it and ordered the 300W model Yung plate amp with no boost this time, - in hopes it will deliver the experiece closer to what I am looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel the Force .........I purchased this alongside a Bravox 12" subwoofer and I must say that for my room size, it more than puts out enough power. I am greatly impressed and can't wait to get my cabinet done and really crank this puppy up!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fuse broken on first plugged powerI couldn't try this amp cause I got a broken fuse when plug the power. Tried another fuse and samething. The volts here in my home is 110v, the same as set on the amp. I'm from Brazil and it took me a month to get this here by shipping.Very sad!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bought as replacement for harman/kardon sub amp that burned outIts rated at less watts than the oem, yet I have to keep the power setting very low

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better for PRO BASS SHAKER than subwoofersAs a CET I was curious on power/distortion readings and users should know these facts of the Yung amp: First of all, the good is that it self regulates inputs to prevent clipping, and it does it well. The bad is that the amp is only good down to about 30 Hz before severe distortion comes in, even at low power, it shows 50% distortion at anything below 20 Hz at any power level. It seems to be the "phase" adjustment design, not well thought out. Therefore, on bass shakers or cheap subwoofers that won't see under 30 Hz you are good to go. For higher-end subwoofers, use a good old fashioned AB linear amp, or a straight wire digital amp, but not the Yung with the phase control. I use it with the Aura bass shakers, and use my SAE 2400L with my Dayton Titanics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wise choice!Works great for a replacement on my infinity 15" sub. I bought this amp module for what it cost me to fix the original the first time. when it blew up the second time i decided to replace it. So far it does a wonderful job pushing the sub with the gain not even half way. Very pleased with price and performance!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yung Class D Amp Works GreatMy subwoofer amp burnt out a while back. It drove a PE Titanic 12 inch sub. I purchased the Yung amp 200 watt amp two weeks ago and installed this last weekend. Had the find a a piece of plywood and make an adapter plate because the Yung amp has a smaller footprint than the previous plate amp. So the process took an extra day (had to paint the plywood black and let it dry. Used woofer mounting insulation tape to insure a good seal. Well It sounds great. The sub actually seems better controlled than with the old amp. It is turned to about 25% on the Level control. The old amp was about at 40% and it was also a 200 watt amp. I used the Pioneer MCACC sound adjustment system built into my Pioneer Receiver. It sounds great, integrated into the system. Only thing I would change is the power cord, it should use the usual 3-pronged cord. Instead it only has a two 2 prong cord. If I ever lose it I am out of luck, while if it had 3 prong cord I could use one of the many old computer power cords I have in a box out in the garage.Great value Thanks PE

Will this amp drive these speakers Bravox PXW12D-2 12" DVC Subwoofer 2 Ohm Per Coil and if so should they be wired in serial or parallel? Just one speaker for home.

Asked by: AlaskanGreg
Yes that amp will work well with that woofer. You will want to wire the coils in series for a 4ohm load.

Is it possible to connect 2 drivers to the output ?

I need a replacement for a faulty amp on a Pioneer S-W200. It runs 2 x 6" inch Pioneer Linear Power Technology woofers, so I need to know how to eventually connect them to this amp, either in series or in parallel (if it´s even possible to run both together). Thanks for your help !
Asked by: ChrisCvitanic
As long as the woofers each have an impedance of 8 ohms you can connect two to this amplifier.

What is the Q of the 35Hz boost and the order (dB/octave) of the lowpass filter?

Asked by: DanP
The manufacturer typically does not include this spec. Given .707 is flat, and .5 is -3db, you can make a reasonable assumption that the Q for +6db is in the area of 1.2

Can the boost be turned off?

I am not sure if i would like the sound with boost or w/o boost better. If i buy the model with boost, can the boost be turned off (the panel doesn't look like it has control for it).
Asked by: mvlmvl
No the boost is not selectable. We recommend boosted amplifiers for sealed designs and non-boosted amps for vented designs.

What is -3dB frequency of the high-pass filter set to on this amp?

Asked by: Fourprol
Download the spec sheet on the product page - you will see that the high-pass is adjustable from 40 - 200hz. So you can select your -3db frequency.

is line out filter ??

is line out for mid/treeble all band or cut with variable filter ??
Asked by: halan
The line out is exactly that - a line out from the line in.Most amplifiers of this type will feature a pass through or loop through for connecting other amplifiers. Judging by experience and the placement of the RCA connectors the "input" and "output share the same connection to the preamp on this plate. There would be no filters involved it would be a full range signal.
