Product Details

Yung SD200 200W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost

Yung International's SD Series Class D subwoofer power amplifiers are equipped with the unique ability to operate continuously at full rated output—a performance attribute not shared by most home audio amp designs. The benefits of this remarkable reserve capacity include solid, punchy dynamic range and fewer "nuisance" shutdowns when operated at sustained high levels.

The amplifiers are also extremely compact, lightweight, and cool-running, allowing users to enjoy the advantages of compact system form factors and flexibility of placement. An internal peak limiting circuit prevents amplifier overload, and protection against internal and external faults is also provided. Input power requirements are user configurable to either 115 VAC or 230 VAC line voltage.

Room optimization and system integration are accomplished easily, thanks to the SD Series amps' inclusion of fully variable level, crossover frequency, and phase controls. Signal input is connected via dual RCA-type jacks, including the means to accept the output of an A/V receiver's LFE output, and dual RCA jacks are also provided to facilitate line level loop-through. When in standby mode, the amp's full active operation is engaged by signal presence of less than 1/2 watt.

Specifications: • Measured power output: 200 watts RMS into 4 ohms @ < 1.0% THD • Signal to noise ratio (at rated power): >90 dB • Input sensitivity (@ low level): 210 mV/50 Hz • Low pass adjustment: 40 Hz to 200 Hz • Phase adjustment: Continuously variable from 0º (normal) to 180º (reverse) • Power requirements: Switchable, 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz • Dimensions: 8" W x 7" H x 2-1/4" D; Cutout dimensions: 7-1/4" W x 6-1/4" H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Plate AmpPurchased this to replace the OEM plate amp on my 10 year old Infinity powered subwoofer, which had started making a loud hum and not much else. This amp cost less than the online mail away outfits wanted to fix the Infinity amp, so it was an easy choice. It was so close in size I only had to cut about 3/8" off the one side of the opening in the box for it to fit. I like the 'auto-on' feature of this amp, which seems to work well. Overall I am very happy with it and my sub is producing nice bass again for my home theater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact with lots of power and low heat.I love D class amps. This preforms at a top notch level and runs cool. Im running a custom made sub at 3ohms and no problems. Only feature I wish it had was a 3-way power switch with: always on, auto on or off. It only has 2-way with auto on or off so with a low signal it does not turn on when I would like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well. I'm very happy. My system basic components:Original Energy Take 5,Velodyne FSR-12in servo sub,Denon 1609 receiver with Audessey MultiEQ.The FSR-12 sub amp stopped working correctly. The factory had no parts to fix it. An equivalent (with servo) replacement was near $2,000. I decided to forgo the servo and just use the SD-200 plate amp to drive the woofer in the Velodyne box.I build a little box for the plate amp that hangs on the back of the woofer enclosure. The original FSR-12 claimed flat response to 20Hz. Based on my rough testing I'm now getting good response down to at least 30Hz. Combine with the MultiEQ in the Denon I'm very happy with the result.I confirmed that the SD-200 standby power is about 0.3W. The amp runs really cool. During normal movie watching it only draws ~15watts.The SD-200 controls (phase, volume, crossover) feel great to the touch. Everything seems to be of high quality.Time will tell how reliable the SD-200 is. But so far it has proved to be an excellent performer and value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible ValueI installed this Sub amplifier on a thirty one year old, highly-regarded M&K Volkswoofer. The result was incredible! It breathe new life to this venerable subwoofer. As everyone know M&K started the whole three-piece satellte/subwoofer system. The three-piece system was an anomaly back then.I have other subwoofers including, the Def Tech Powerfield 15tl, HSU VTF-3 MK3, and the super accurate Rhytmik DS1200 Servo. The M&K Volkswoofer/Yung subwoofer can hold its own. These four subwoofers shakes the house down to its foundation!! I love it.

What is a line level loop-through?

Does it mean I can connect to it with normal a rca cable and connect to 2 speakers through it without any change to the original volume put into this sub woofer amplifier?
Asked by: GavinC
The RCA jacks labeled LINE INPUT (for left and right channel content) are also connected (internally) to the jacks called LINE OUTPUT - same signal as you put in. These are for convenience for you - in case you want to daisy chain 2 units or send these signals to some other item as well as the sub.

What is -3dB frequency of the high-pass filter set to on this amp?

Asked by: Fourprol
I'm not sure, but both the gain and the the crossover point are adjustable, so I would think the -3dB point would be more dependent on the driver selected and the enclosure design. Or perhaps I don't understand the question?

Are these amps sutable for use with 8 ohm drivers?

The specs only give info regarding 4 ohm and the current drivers I have are 8 ohm.
Asked by: Dan P
The SD200 amplifier will drive an 8 ohm speaker. However, just like any amplifier, the power into 8 ohms will be lower since the impedance is higher. Because the amp produces a little over 28V output into a 4 ohm load, it will produce a little over 100W into 8 ohms. (VoltageSquared/4ohms=200W)
