Yung SD200 200W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost

Yung International's SD Series Class D subwoofer power amplifiers are equipped with the unique ability to operate continuously at full rated output—a performance attribute not shared by most home audio amp designs. The benefits of this remarkable reserve capacity include solid, punchy dynamic range and fewer "nuisance" shutdowns when operated at sustained high levels.

The amplifiers are also extremely compact, lightweight, and cool-running, allowing users to enjoy the advantages of compact system form factors and flexibility of placement. An internal peak limiting circuit prevents amplifier overload, and protection against internal and external faults is also provided. Input power requirements are user configurable to either 115 VAC or 230 VAC line voltage.

Room optimization and system integration are accomplished easily, thanks to the SD Series amps' inclusion of fully variable level, crossover frequency, and phase controls. Signal input is connected via dual RCA-type jacks, including the means to accept the output of an A/V receiver's LFE output, and dual RCA jacks are also provided to facilitate line level loop-through. When in standby mode, the amp's full active operation is engaged by signal presence of less than 1/2 watt.

Specifications: • Measured power output: 200 watts RMS into 4 ohms @ < 1.0% THD • Signal to noise ratio (at rated power): >90 dB • Input sensitivity (@ low level): 210 mV/50 Hz • Low pass adjustment: 40 Hz to 200 Hz • Phase adjustment: Continuously variable from 0º (normal) to 180º (reverse) • Power requirements: Switchable, 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz • Dimensions: 8" W x 7" H x 2-1/4" D; Cutout dimensions: 7-1/4" W x 6-1/4" H.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great replacement for the Infinity BU-120 sub ampI have used it about a week to replace a defective amp on Infinity BU120 subwoofer. It fit cabinet with minimum modification to cabinet and sounds as good or better than factory amp. Runs cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Punchy little suckerWonderful little amp. I use it to power an outboard, ported cylinder sub, since I do not care to have amplifiers installed in the sub box, mainly because I am paranoid about something shaking loose. The amp has been installed in a small box, with binding posts on the side to facilitate using speaker wires.I previously purchased the SD-300 version and use it the same way, with still another ported cylinder sub I built, although the outboard box I built is a bit larger. With either unit, the box can be stashed out of the way once the connections are completed. Both of the subs are 4 ohms, but I have built a third that is 8 ohms and the only thing about the SD-200 and SD-300 that I do not like is that the spec sheets do not offer up 8-ohm power ratings; just 4 ohm. I have also ordered another SD-200 (this one with the 6-dB boost at 35 Hz, because the third cylinder sub is rather small sealed-box job with 8-inch woofers at the top and bottom), and will report on that one down the line.A picture of both units is attached.Howard Ferstler

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has operated excellently so far several months. This was a great purchase, the sub. amp runs relatively cool and is not overly large for a 200 watt 4 ohm sub. I am happy with my purchase decision.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very low end ampa thin light electric cord and 1/8 speakers connectors cant really be expected to produce a large current draw or to be designed to last that long.I have 20 yrs. designing and building sound systems...stick with Dayton plate amps...I exchanged it for a Dayton 100 watt.....I should have known better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerfull Small UnitInstalled this amp in a Sony SAWMSP75 (Original amp and speaker failed) box with an Infinity Reference 8" 860W and it's shaking the house down. Before this I purchased a Sony SAW2500 10" sub but it had no definition for movies, did not have enough power and did not fit in my sectional sofa. You're not supposed to use car subs for home theater but this combination works like heaven. It even refreshes my feet during movie bass lines.AMP Notes:Doesn't even get warmAuto-On feature work like all subs are supposed to. Turn your receiver on and the sub click on, no need to have a certain amount of sound going to it, so it eliminates the highly annoying Auto-Off during quiet movie scenes, all definition even during speech and non action scenes.Easy to install with a small footprint for the amount of powerDid I mention Price Cheap, instead of quality Cheap.Phase, Volume and Crossover cutoff dials works perfectly in combination with the calibration feature of my receiver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice unitBought this to replace inop stock amp plate on a name brand 10 inch ported box.Control knobs have a nice feel to them. Seems to have the advertised power.Had to cut back to 1/3 power (instead of 1/2 with old 100 watt rms amp) for YPAO set up. YPAO had max minus after setup at 1/2 volume and still had too much bass.Great to have sub working again inexpensively. Seems to run cooler as well.Glad I didn't buy the 500 watt model!

What is the power output rating at 8 ohms?

Asked by: Turtleboyjolo
Doubling resistance usually halves the current, so the output power into 8 ohms will be roughly 100 watts.

Hey can I use this amp if I wanted to wirer up 2 five inch sub's @ 6ohms @80watts each they are from a old JVC hybrid system

Asked by: dee dub
This amp will work but you will have to wire the subs in series for a 12 ohm load.

My A/V amp only puts out a mono (1 RCA) signal for a sub. Can this amp be wired accordingly? Or will I need an RCA "Y" to connect my output to both inputs?

Asked by: DenS
A Y splitter is not required for this amplifier, you can use the left line level input if you have only one subwoofer output.

Does anyone know what the input impedance of this amp would be? I can't seem to find that info anywhere..

Asked by: thehoj
The input impedance of this and all Yung amplifiers is 22k ohms.

Hello, I wonder how much internal volume the Yung SD200 Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module are using, I am going to build a really small subwoofer enclosure so I want to add the volume to the enclosure for the SD200 so that my calculation gets right.

Asked by: Benorr
These do not take up enough space to make a difference in the total displacement of a subwoofer.
