Product Details

Yung SD100 100W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost

Yung International's SD Series Class D subwoofer power amplifiers are equipped with the unique ability to operate continuously at full rated output—a performance attribute not shared by most home audio amp designs. The benefits of this remarkable reserve capacity include solid, punchy dynamic range and fewer "nuisance" shutdowns when operated at sustained high levels.

The amplifiers are also extremely compact, lightweight, and cool-running, allowing users to enjoy the advantages of compact system form factors and flexibility of placement. An internal peak limiting circuit prevents amplifier overload, and protection against internal and external faults is also provided. Input power requirements are user configurable to either 115 VAC or 230 VAC line voltage.

Room optimization and system integration are accomplished easily, thanks to the SD Series amps' inclusion of fully variable level, crossover frequency, and phase controls. Signal input is connected via dual RCA-type jacks, including the means to accept the output of an A/V receiver's LFE output, and dual RCA jacks are also provided to facilitate line level loop-through. When in standby mode, the amp's full active operation is engaged by signal presence of less than 1/2 watt.

Specifications: • Measured power output: 100 watts RMS into 4 ohms @ < 1.0% THD • Signal to noise ratio (at rated power): >90 dB • Input sensitivity (@ low level): 210 mV/50 Hz • Low pass adjustment: 40 Hz to 200 Hz • Phase adjustment: Continuously variable from 0º (normal) to 180º (reverse) • Power requirements: Switchable, 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz • Dimensions: 8" W x 7" H x 2-1/4" D; Cutout dimensions: 7-1/4" W x 6-1/4" H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wantedI needed a subwoofer plate amplifier to pass through to my powered Monitors. This works perfectly, has enough power and was a good fit for my older Samson Subwoofter. Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The little amp that couldI purchased this sub amp to replace a blown amp on an Aiwa TSW6 subwoofer. This sub is used in my bedroom just to add some bottom end as I fall asleep. The volume is set very low.I had to make an adaptor plate to make it fit but it was well worth the effort.Once I turn on the Kenwood shelf system I have to turn up the volume a little to trigger on the sub but after I turn the volume back down to where it should be the sub will stay on until the timer shuts everything down, usually around an hour. The auto on feature works well. There is no hum to be heard and although this little amp weighs less than the one it replaced I have to admit that is has much better and more powerful sound and flexability than the original.Nice build quality. The controls operate smoothly and have a good feel.It was never intended to rock the house off of it's foundation just fill in the lower octaves and it does it well. The power LED is kind of bright so it makes for a nice night light.LOL It was a steal at $69.Very happy with this purchase.

Yung SD100 100W Class D Subwoofer Plate Amplifier Module No Boost

I'm looking to use this amp on discontinued Peerless 831858 dual 8 Ohm twin coil sub. The RMS power handling is hard to track down - the specs list it as Pe 200 Watts so can I assume the RMS is about 100Watts? Is this amp OK for this driver?

Asked by: Down under
Yes this will work well with that woofer in terms of the power handling.

Does this amp have a rumble/subsonic filter built in? If so, at what frequency?

Asked by: steviedon
The Yung SD Series plate amplifiers are flat to 30 Hz, -1.5 dB @ 22.5 Hz, and -3 dB @ 21 Hz. It is recommended that the low-frequency high-pass (rumble) filter not be modified to ensure maximum amplifier longevity.

What is peak wattage of this plate amp?

I am thinking about replacing the amp in my pioneer sw8 with this amp, but not sure about the peak wattage.
Asked by: John E
The manufacture does not provide a peak number for this amplifier. The only number that makes a difference is the RMS, anything beyond that is clipping anyway.

Product Application

Can this be used to make a Powered Subwoofer for a BAND application ? I have a 600 watt Powered Full Range Speaker that is used on a Pole. I use a Drum Machine and play guitar/sing as a SOLO Performer. I can adapt the connectors in and out if this will handle the input from a PA Board ?
Asked by:
We do not recommend the subwoofer plate amplifiers for this application, they are not designed to hold up to that type of environment. You may want to consider the PMA250 instead.
