XLR Connector Chassis Mount Male 3 Pin
XLR Connector Chassis Mount Male 3 Pin is rated 2.875 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this one.I was disappointed with with this XLR jack. While soldering the wire to the connection point, the pin moved about a 1/4 " because the blue inner material got too soft. I really didn't have the soldering iron on it that long, it's just that the manufacturer should have used material that doesn't melt so easily. I should have gone with a more expensive jack. I got suckered in with the price. You get what you pay for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Use Proper Heat SinkI've read the other reviews and have only one suggestion - use a proper heat sink! These are good connectors and will solder well if, before soldering, you plug in a corresponding connector (female in this case# first as a heat sink. Use flux #sparingly), pre-solder the pin socket and wire, then solder the two together. Voila! It's worked for me for over thirty years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent qualityThese are not a bad quality connector. Care must be taken when solering to them as overheating will melt the internal plastic. The best way to solder to these is to plug the proper connector into them when soldering to help act as a heatsink and be sure to leave them connected till cool.I have never had a problem with them when the proper soldering techniques are used.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from be carefulI couldn't get the solder to stick (yes, I know how to solder). Held the iron on the pin a moment too long and the pin melted out of the plastic. That one's ruined.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Soldering problemI agree with Spinny: the plastic holding the pins does melt too easy when soldering. Switchcraft doesn't have this issue.
