You can't just put any replacement speaker in your cabinet and expect it to sound good. Every speaker system (worth it's weight) was engineered with a specific woofer in mind. So, it is usually best to try and replace your woofer with an original when possible. But many times finding the original woofer is impossible (or very expensive).
