Wired Home WHIREB IR Emitter Blaster

Wired Home's WHIREB IR emitter blaster has the ability to flood multiple components within a rack with IR control commands, reducing the clutter caused by attaching an emitter to each device to be controlled. At the same time, this reduces the number of emitter ports occupied on an IR hub, allowing for a single hub to be used over multiple zones. Each emitter blaster has been designed using a very deep purple plastic and easily disappears from view within a room; the peel-and-stick adhesive attaches to almost any surface for trouble-free, long lasting service. All IR commands between frequencies of 30-100 kHz are passed, ensuring compatibility with nearly every IR system and source component on the market. A 3.5 mm mono plug has been attached to the 10 ft. control cable for quick connection to a Wired Home hub such as the small WHIRH IR hub or WHIRDH wall plate IR hub.

Specifications: • IR frequency bandwidth: 30-100 kHz • 10 ft. control cable • Dimensions: 1" H x 0.63" W x 0.375" D. Note: Wired Home IR hub, 12 VDC power supply, multi-conductor wire, and Wired Home target required for proper operation. Designed to be placed adjacent to equipment under control. Do not place directly on source components.

Wired Home WHIREB IR Emitter Blaster is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs a Hub Designed to Power BlastersI learned the hard way, blasters require more power than flashers. I originally tried this blaster with the WHIRH hub (Part # 182-860) and the effective operational range was less than a foot. I purchased the WHRDH hub (Part # 182-884), and now the blaster controls four different devices from a range of 24 ft. The WHRDH has a dip switch that can be set to increase the output to the level required to drive a blaster.Be aware, if the devices you are trying to control simultaneously see more than one IR source (e.g. a standard remote and a blaster or a blaster and a flasher), your devices may get confused and refuse to accept any commands. Blasters put out a lot of light, so you need to be a little careful on placement.

Wired Home WHIREB IR Emitter Blaster

can I use this I R emiter to control a Verizon cable box thats hidden inside a cabinet, with just the emiter exposed?

Would I be able to use the same remote that came with the box? Thanks Larry
Asked by: Larry the Lizard
In order to control your device(s) in the manner you describe, you would require at least one target, one hub, and one emitter. The targets are available in various styles; this is where you would point the remote control for your device(s). The hub supplies power and interface for the components, and the emitter is what finally transmits the IR signal to your device(s). We have these components individually, or in kits which include all these components. I've linked a few such kits below for your convenience. And yes, once the system is installed, you can use the original remote that controls your device. Our repeater systems simply carry (repeat) that IR (infra-red) signal from your remote(s) to your device(s).
