Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for multiple TVs...Keep away from older LCDs.Overall, the repeater target does just what is says it will do. It's easy to install, and seamless integrates with my components. I have simple installation, with two of these WHIR2005s wired together into a single WH-IRH hub, a single WHIREB IR blaster, and the small WHPS power supply, running two TVs in separate rooms from one cable box.Initially I had some trouble with one of these targets. It was mounted on top of my LCD and quit working after a short period. Got another one, and it stopped working as soon as I put next to the LCD again. Got another one, and installed it away from the LCD, and it is working fine! My advice, if you have an older LCD, try and install the target somewhere other than on the monitor itself.Let me also say how easy Parts Express was to work with when it came to returning the bad units and getting replacements. They stand behind their products and cater to their customers. That can be a hard combo to come by these days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I needed to extend a DISH ViP 622 DVR remoteI have this mounted on the bottom of my Panasonic 42 plasma. I have read about interference but I have not experienced with this arrangement. The target is very small and unobtrusive. I extended it with about 25 of unshielded CAT5 with no problem. Maybe a longer run might require shielded but I am crossing AC cable at right angles and don t have any parallel runs. The only down side is it s so small for the cost, maybe about the price would be good or pack it in a walnut case or something.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Took care of LCD intereferenceI had been using Niles IR receivers with the blue flashback light. These did not work well with my Philips 46" LCD because after first turning on the TV the Niles would continuously flash blue for about 5 minutes, and would not receive remote control inputs from the universal remote until the flashing stopped. This product took care of the problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helped me get past the LCD IR interferenceI had the tube style targets that struggled to work with the flat screens. I bought 3 of these and each worked instantly aqnd in the same locations. I would like to see the price be a bit lower, close to the $30-$40 range like a few other brands.

Will this allow me to operate multiple pieces of equipment or just one piece?

Asked by: jonjlw
The item in question here is only a target, which would take the IR commands from your remote and transmit them to your components via a hub and emitter(s). The target itself will not control anything, but coupled with the appropriate adjuncts, or as part of a kit, you can certainly operate multiple components remotely with this type of system. I've linked a few such items below for your convenience.
