Wired Home TS-6VC 2-Source 6-Zone Speaker Selector Switch with Volume Controls

I need to independently control the volume of 6 matching speakers. My plan had been to wire one speaker per zone. Will this work? Should I wire to R or L? Will these affect the impedance protection?

Asked by: TDCPS
Yes this can be wired this way, it will not matter which side you use as long as it is the same for all channels. It will not impact the impedance protection.

Can the zones be turned on and off independently and can some zones be run on a amp and some on b amp.

Asked by: Anonymous
The zones cannot specifically turned off, only switched from one amplifier input to another.

Is the impedance matching circuitry resistive or inductive?

Asked by: bstramer
This is transformer based so it is inductive.

Can you connect speakers in parallel or series if the final load is 4, 6 or 8 ohms?

Asked by: Moor Red Rum
It is best to only use 1 pair of speakers with each of the zones - so, 6 pairs max. At a maximum rating of 75W RMS per channel, you will have limited volume capabilities to start with. If you were to take a specific zone, for example, and have 4 pairs of speakers to maintain the same impedance, it would produce a low sound output compared to other zones. Units like this perform best with a good amp and 6 speakers of the same make and model. If you have a need for a more complex whole home audio and/or video distribution system - you should consider more advanced components.
