How can I extend the range over Cat-5 or Coax?
I have both Cat-5 and coax run to from my wiring closet to where I would like the IR receivers to be. How can I extend using one of these cables?
A system like this can only use Cat 5 as a splice between the receiver (target) and hub. An easier solution would be to use a 3.5mm headphone extension cable at whatever length you need.

How far does the emitter reach
How far can the emitter eye be from the hub to transmit. I have 33 ft between the emitter and the receiver.
The emitters used in this kit have a 10 foot cord. You can extend this up to around 100 feet using cat3 or cat 5 cable if needed.

Very interested. Sounds cool. What exactly is it used for?
This system is designed to allow you to put your A/V equipment in a cabinet or separate room and transmit the IR signal from the remote without needing to be line of sight with the devices. This system includes an IR target (which you point the remote at), a hub and four emitters which stick to the IR sensors on your electronics.
