Wired Home DBIRX Infrared Repeater System Kit Dual Band

With a Wired Home IR Repeater system, you can locate your A/V components out of sight in a closet or cabinet and still use your remote control.

The central module features industry-standard jacks for power, target, and emitters, so no tools are needed for installation. Screw tabs on the sides of the control module allow it to be permanently attached to just about any surface. The system includes two double-emitters with two meter cords, to control up to four devices. The target has a one meter cord so it can be located away from the control module. There are two LEDs on the control module; the red LED shows the system has power and the green LED flashes to show signal transmission. A 5V DC power supply is included.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They work great if you can just get them to stick.I am very impressed with the way this product works. I was able to add them easily and in no time we were controlling everything with the cabinets closed. The only problem we have experienced is the tape is not sticky enough. I have replaced the tape on everything, but that is the only issue I have had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and use!I am very impressed with this economical unit. I had it out of the box and operational within a matter of minutes. There is no programing required, it's simply a "plug and play" item. The ability to expand up two to IR readers with 10 transmitter devices is nice as well. I would highly recommend this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DBIRX RepeaterI use this unit for my outside stereo with the equipment that is indoors. It took nearly no time to install and set up.The receiving unit is more sensitive than the equipment it is now repeating to. Works flawlessly. If I could make one suggestion, is one of the transmitters feeds an older XM radio home unit that the buttons are too close to mount directly to the unit and I needed to tape it on. Unit is hidden away, so nobody sees it, but looks kind of funky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ValueI bought this system a couple of weeks ago for my home theater. Works very well. I have the detector mounted over 30 feet from the receiver (spliced additional wire) and haven't noticed any signal degradation. The view angle of the receiver seems to be a bit narrow, although probably within the advertised +/- 15 deg.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for a great product!Great product. Easy to install and works great with my new TV. Adhesive was good on the components to adhere to cable box and TV.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for adjacent cabinet/closetThe IR Repeater system is a bargain, and works great. I have done many where the TV was either close to a closet/cabinet or far away. This one is good for where the TV is adjacent to acloset or cabinet due to the factory length of the wires on the receiver and the emitters. The quarter size receiver is not the end of the world to me.

I have not been able to get this to work with a seven year old Sony A/V receiver. Any advice before I return? Everything is plugged in correctly and all lights are indicating a connection.

How can I extend the range over Cat-5 or Coax?

I have both Cat-5 and coax run to from my wiring closet to where I would like the IR receivers to be. How can I extend using one of these cables?
Asked by: SBR140.6
A system like this can only use Cat 5 as a splice between the receiver (target) and hub. An easier solution would be to use a 3.5mm headphone extension cable at whatever length you need.
