Product Details

Wired Home 1066U Cat 6 CMR Solid Cond 500 MHz Blue 1000 ft.

Category 6 cable provides a high-speed pathway for gigabit Ethernet performance. Perfectly suited for applications including computer network, telephone, surveillance, video distribution, audio and infrared system control. Wired Home's Cat 6 cable has been designed, manufactured and verified to meet and exceed published standards for computer network installations. Features include a superior 550 MHz bandwidth compared to standard 250 MHz Cat 6 cable, and a thick central spline that separates the individual pairs decreasing noise and crosstalk. UL and NEC requirements have been met for vertical flame tests making this cable riser rated for in-wall and in-ceiling installations. Packaging has been designed around the Spool-in-Box payout system. This enables installers to save time (and money) by virtually eliminating performance robbing cable kinks, common with other manufacturers' bulk Cat 5e cable, during installation. Alternatively, the internal spool may be removed to "rack-up" on a traditional cable caddy.

Specifications: • Individual conductors: 23 AWG (0.57 mm dia.) solid copper • Nominal impedance: 100 ohms (±15 ohms) • DCR: 6.9 ohms/100 meters • Capacitance: 5000 pF/100 meters • Attenuation @ 550 MHz: 52.8 dB • Overall cable diameter: 6.10 mm (± 0.10 mm).

Wired Home 1066U Cat 6 CMR Solid Cond 500 MHz Blue 1000 ft.
Wired Home 1066U Cat 6 CMR Solid Cond 500 MHz Blue 1000 ft. is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, DependableI used this product for a basement remodel project. It was easy to pull, and the jacket is thick and durable. I have it all connected to wall jacks and a patch panel in which I had no problem punching down the individual pairs. All cables work and would highly recommend!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good cableThis cable is great. Much higher quality than the local electrical supply houses have and a better price too. I have gone through 4-5 boxes so far and I am about to order a bunch more. The only possible downside of this cable is that it is somewhat stiff and heavy. A box of this cable is significantly heavier than a box of most other cable. I like the stiffness though it is more resistant to kinking when pulling it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, with one exception. The payout box reel tends to break in shipping making the payout tragically difficult. When the box is undamaged it works very well. Terminating is good with the EZ connectors once you get the hang of it. So far no problems with signal.

Wired Home 1066U Cat 6 CMR Solid Cond 500 MHz Blue 1000 ft.

Will this cable work if run it along with power thru my new home, or will I need a shielded cable?

Asked by: gumby46
Never run a low voltage cable through the same holes as power cable. You should always leave 10 to 12 inches between power cables and low voltage cables. If crossing a power cable, make sure to cross at a 90 degree angle. Failure to adhere to building codes will result in project delays and cost more money.
