Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes old look new!I had some older Dayton 5" midwoofers I use in a garage system that had become very greyish and worn looking. I purchased the product based on other reviews and it realy works. I was initially worried about brush strokes but the product seemed to self level. Looks absolutely great, smooth, shiny and seemed to stiffen the cone.Buy it you will not be dissappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saved the look of my speakersEasy to apply! Does go on smoth, but leaves some brush strokes. Might have been better if sprayed on as they suggest. Left the cones looking new and feeling protected as it gives the cones almost like a poly coating. Put 4 coats on them and still have over 3/4 bottle left. (Coated two 6" spkrs)Been wanting to try this product for years now, and finally did and am happy with how the project turned out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This stuff is simply amazing. 5*****I had seen some reviews with people complaining about it looking like water down glue etc. I wasn't expecting much, But when I opened it and started applying I was blown away with how well it covered the cone, How smooth it went on, and how fast it dried and finally how it totally changed the look of my speakers. they went from a old worn grey looking paper to a shiny black new looking cones. I may be overexcited but I swear it stiffened the cones up dramatically and has caused the speakers to sound dramatically better.I ordered a 4 oz bottle and after 4 coats on each 15" speaker I still have 1/3 of bottle left so it covers a lot of area.

Wet Look 4 oz. Black

is it safe on polyprpylene and Butyl??

will this product be safe to use on Polypropylene andButyl rubber??
Asked by: lytro96
It would be safe although this is generally only used on materials that are porous. We also to not recommend this for surrounds because it does not stay flexible enough to prevent changing driver parameters.

can this be used on a H.O.P. (Highly Oriented Polyolefine) cone speakers

sony makes them
Asked by: Swilk G
According the the product definition from Sony: "H.O.P. is 30 times stronger than regular polypropylene, so you know these speakers can really dish out the mids and lows. The durable rubber surround resists deterioration from heat and humidity."It seems that there would be no point for using the Wet Look, because the speaker cones that are made from are very glossy, and I doubt that the Wet is nearly as strong in the first place. I used the Wet Look on some older paper cone woofers, it is a great product, a real money saver, and performance enhancer, but like any great product, it has it's proper use, but it is just not needed here.

is this applied to the surround and the dust cap?

Asked by: Swilk G
This product is designed to be applied to paper cones. If your surround(s) and/or dust cap(s) are paper, then it should be fine. If they're some other material, I cannot say that this product would be suitable for the application.

Can this be used on the butyl rubber surround of a woorfer?

Asked by: scottasbj
It is formulated specifically for paper cones, but should be fine for butyl rubber. I would recommend spot-testing prior to application, just to be on the safe side.
