Weller WLC100 40 Watt Soldering Station
Weller WLC100 40 Watt Soldering Station is rated 4.3684 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great iron that has lasted a very long time! This is a great soldering iron for the money. I have one of these at home and also use one at work. Neither one has ever given me a problem. It is worth it to keep extra tips handy, but that does not mean that they don't last long. Weller also makes a variety of different tips for different applications. Well worth the investment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value priced soldering station - good quality!Used this station as soon as I received it - put it through it's paces soldering audio cables for about 5 hours. The heat and performance was very consistent. I absolutely feel that I got my moneys worth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great iron for the price.I build cords on a regular basis and it works just as it should.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No problemsI have owned one of these for over 12 years and performed thousands of solder joints with many days where it was on for 10 hours plus a day and have had flawless performance. The only thing I wish was different is the screw that holds the tip in. It tends to be very hard to remove after hours of use. The screw not removing is the only thing that made me have to buy a new one. PE shipping seems REALLY SLOW lately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weller WLC100 Review--Good ProductThis does what it is designed to do, regulate the heat for a small soldering iron. It has no temperature feedback, but this makes a good basic soldering station.I bought it because it makes an excellent holder for the iron, and the heat can be adjusted. I use this as a hobbyist, for soldering components onto printed circuit boards. The screwdriver tip they supply is too wide. I ordered the st-7, which is a conical tip that comes to small needle point, but the tip is a little too small, so I will be ordering the st-5 and st-6. These have very narrow, but flat tips. The iron takes any style of the Weller ST series soldering iron tips.Unless you plan on leaving the iron on for more than 8 hours, the plastic base of the soldering iron supplied will not melt, as another reviewer has stated. I keep mine 3/4 from maximum adjusted current/heat, plugged in for a few hours at a time, and my iron only gets a little warm to the touch, around where the base of the iron touches the holder. If you want a decent soldering iron with a holder that actually fits the iron, with adjustable temp, then this is a good product. If you need a professional soldering station that can be left on 24x7, then buy a higher end product than this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weller WLC100 ReviewIordered the WLC100 and found the temperature control unit did not regulate the iron or even allow the tip to heat up.Plugging the iron directly into the AC cord showed the iron worked fine it was the control unit that was at fault. I requested an RMA and returned the unit. At the same time Parts Express shipped me a replacement unit that works great. I have been using Weller units for 3 decades. The defective one was a rare instance.

is there a euro(220v-240v) version?

meaning 3 round poles so it would fit to european socket? if there isnt, is it ok just to use an cheap regular adapter with this?
Asked by: eeebbr
Being a North American distributor, the vast majority of products we carry (including this one) are compatible only with 120VAC/60Hz. I'd suggest checking with your local retailer(s) for a Euro-compatible product, or using a voltage transformer such as I've linked below.
