Visaton FRS8-4 3.3" Full-Range Speaker 4 Ohm
Hi, if the mounting flange were cut off, would this fit inside a 2.95" ID tube?
It would be a very tight fit, the narrow portion of the frame is 3.07". In order to cut it any smaller, the portion of the frame where the surround is attached would have to be cut into which is not recommended.

What is the spacing between screw holes? I have a blown fostex 6301 -got a pair very cheap, not sure how you go about blowing one of these. Going to replace both speakers to keep the set matched. I know they won't be as good as original drivers.

I have a pair of RFT Carrera (east German) with blown mids. They are 3-1/8" 4 ohm 10VA with the description RFT L1714 company name on driver is Veb Funkwerk Kolleda. Do you think these Visaton FRS8-4 3.3" would be a suitable replacement? Thanks!
Based on impedance and size alone these should work fine, although you will want to make sure the rear is enclosed and the sensitivity is similar.

will this work to replace a jvc 3 inch speaker that is blown? sp-ux7000 20 watt 4 ohms part #lv40205-001a
Assuming the dimensions are close based on what we have online there is no reason this wont work. Unfortunately we have no cross reference guide.

2 to 3 way car audio speaker system
I bought a new a set of component speakers for my truck (JBL GTO 608c) and I've been pondering the idea of adding a third speaker to the system. These 3.3" speakers should fit in the kicker panels with no problem although it is a small space. The new JBLs were a huge improvement over the worn out factory speakers and overall I really like them but I'd like to add a little more depth to the mids/vocals and "warmth". I'm running them off the stock HU and I have no plans to add an amp.I looked at bandpass crossovers and found a 4 ohm 800 - 5khz listed below that might be ??? a good match for what I'm trying to do.Is this a good plan or am I barking up the wrong tree?
These may work for your application, but the SPL rating concerns me a bit. This driver is only 82 db at 1 watt/ 1 meter away. If the other speakers in the system are more efficient, it is possible that they would drown these out.
