Vifa NE315W-08 12" Subwoofer Speaker
What crossover point is recommended between the NE315W-08 and an Usher 8498A?
These drivers can handle a wide crossover range, anything from 300-600 Hz will work well.

What box and port size would this woofer require? Also if I were to use 2 in a three way what you be the efficiency (db)?
I would recommend a 3 cubic foot enclosure per woofer with a single 3" diameter, 17" long port for a tuning frequency of 25 Hz. Two woofers wired in parallel with give you 6 dB more output.

Would this woofer work well in a ported 3 way design? Or is more suited for subwoofer applications?
This will work well as a woofer in a 3-way. I would recommend a crossover between 350 and 450 Hz.

Sealed Cabinet Size
I have just ordered the 12" Vifa sub and am looking to purchase a sealed cabinet (not ported) for it. What cabinet that PE sells would be best suited to the characteristics of the sub, when run in sealed mode ? I prefer sealed to ported due to sharper bass notes.I have a Peerless 12" XLS sub that I bought a few years ago and is serving me well. It is in a sealed cabinet and sounds great. Will the Vifa measure up to the XLS in a sealed cabinet ?
The Vifa will work well in the same sealed cabinet as the XLS, around 0.9 cubic feet. The XLS will have more output capabilities due to its longer excursion, I cannot say how else the two will differ.
