Product Details

Vifa NE19VTS-04 3/4" Silk Dome Tweeter

The Vifa NE product line of tweeters has leading-edge transducer technology packaged in cutting edge, stylistic designs. Vifa's finite element analysis designed high power, high performance, neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) motor provides high output in a small footprint. Various dome materials are available for the tweeter models, including titanium, aluminum, silk, and deep-anodized aluminum. Domes sized to match 1" or 3/4" voice coils provide large linear motion and low distortion, ensuring a wide smooth frequency response that also reproduces low-level details in music. Copper caps in the motor system create a high frequency extension and lower intermodulation distortion. An aluminum rear chamber provides a very low resonance that provides very flexible system design capabilities, by keeping the resonance of the tweeter well below the tweeter crossover frequency.

Vifa NE19VTS-04 3/4" Silk Dome Tweeter
Vifa NE19VTS-04 3/4" Silk Dome Tweeter is rated 4.3333 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent little driversI had a failed tweeter in my M-Audio Studiophile AV40 set of monitors and Avid (now the owner of M-Audio) will not provide support for "older" models of the AV40. After a little research, found these vifa drivers to be a good candidate for the job. There is a little bit of adaptation required on the fitting and termination sides but boy I can tell the results are well worth the effort. Those vifa drivers can deliver crisp highs, notably better than the original drivers on the AV40. They are indeed on the pricier side, but if you still like your pair of AV40 and have a failed tweeter, go for these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid TweeterOnly problem is front two grill bars are quite delicate and you must be careful not to push on them. Otherwise performance in our speakers is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice small tweeter that sounds good butOut of 5 tweeters ordered 2 had the cross bars crushed from the packaging method. I think this was from the factory and not Parts Express fault. It does sound nice and looks good. It is very small in size and would be very easy to use in an automotive environment. Have not had the time to really break the tweeters in and fully test them.

How would these sound on 45 w rms or slightly more?

I have a sony xm 4045 and sony xm 4040Rated for 40w rms @ 4 ohms (under rated)I am wondering how these will sound on just 40-50w rms though.Would I need to give these the full 80w rms for them to sound good/loud?
Asked by: casemods
Short answer:No.The wattage figure is the capacity not a required power. There is usually a time limit involved with the rating ,i.e. one hour @ 80 watts = burn out.To determine the volume convert the 45 w into dbw,i.e. 1 dbw=1watt,10 watts=10dbw.Every doubling of wattage equals apx. 3dbw.20 watts is a 3 db increase for 13dbw,45w is apx. another doubling for a total of apx.16dbw.Find the sensitivity rating for the tweeter,90 db @ 2.38 volts @ 4 ohms @ 1 meter,(normal distance). Now in this case you will find a note that the 2.38 V figure is for comparing 8 ohm drivers ,which pull less current at the same voltage,to 4 ohm drivers. The difference is about 3db.Subtract this from the 90db sensitivity figure for 87,add the power amp power of 16 dbw and at one meter your tweeter will reach 103 db, only a 3 db difference from the full 80 watt rating! How loud it will get with music is a whole other subject called headroom.Briefly, to average 45 watts of music power requires about double the power to handle the peaks,i.e. snare drum cracks. So to average, loud guitar solo, 103 db then cleanly handle that snare drum crack takes more power then just peaking to 103 for the snare drum.P.S. in a room with little background noise, living room or bedroom, 80db is loud vs. a club with all of it's talking and yelling,95db is loud.Bass gets physical around 100db.

Crossover?

Id like to use 1 of these with 2 of the Focal 6m115 per door in a car audio application. Is this possible? If so what CO should i use?
Asked by: 1979jmjimmie
816 hz is not the bottom end limit of the driver unless you had an infinite slope crossover. If you use a simple 6db/oct crossover, consider 3500-ish about the bottom for a 2-way, jump between 5000 to 7500 for a 3-way depending on the range of a midrange - if you use one...

Asked by: cdunginess
2,000-3,000 Hz, depending the capablities of your woofer or midrange.
