Vifa NE19VTS-04 3/4" Silk Dome Tweeter
What is the lowest frequency you would recommend crossing over this tweeter in both 2nd and 3rd order crossovers at 60W RMS?
I would recommend no lower than 2,000 second order and 1,800 third order.

How would these sound on 45 w rms or slightly more?
I have a sony xm 4045 and sony xm 4040Rated for 40w rms @ 4 ohms (under rated)I am wondering how these will sound on just 40-50w rms though.Would I need to give these the full 80w rms for them to sound good/loud?
Short answer:No.The wattage figure is the capacity not a required power. There is usually a time limit involved with the rating ,i.e. one hour @ 80 watts = burn out.To determine the volume convert the 45 w into dbw,i.e. 1 dbw=1watt,10 watts=10dbw.Every doubling of wattage equals apx. 3dbw.20 watts is a 3 db increase for 13dbw,45w is apx. another doubling for a total of apx.16dbw.Find the sensitivity rating for the tweeter,90 db @ 2.38 volts @ 4 ohms @ 1 meter,(normal distance). Now in this case you will find a note that the 2.38 V figure is for comparing 8 ohm drivers ,which pull less current at the same voltage,to 4 ohm drivers. The difference is about 3db.Subtract this from the 90db sensitivity figure for 87,add the power amp power of 16 dbw and at one meter your tweeter will reach 103 db, only a 3 db difference from the full 80 watt rating! How loud it will get with music is a whole other subject called headroom.Briefly, to average 45 watts of music power requires about double the power to handle the peaks,i.e. snare drum cracks. So to average, loud guitar solo, 103 db then cleanly handle that snare drum crack takes more power then just peaking to 103 for the snare drum.P.S. in a room with little background noise, living room or bedroom, 80db is loud vs. a club with all of it's talking and yelling,95db is loud.Bass gets physical around 100db.

Id like to use 1 of these with 2 of the Focal 6m115 per door in a car audio application. Is this possible? If so what CO should i use?
816 hz is not the bottom end limit of the driver unless you had an infinite slope crossover. If you use a simple 6db/oct crossover, consider 3500-ish about the bottom for a 2-way, jump between 5000 to 7500 for a 3-way depending on the range of a midrange - if you use one...

Hi,these tweets will be used with vifa P17WG-09-04's running directly off a JVC head unit. Can you recommend a cap size or crossover.ThanksCraig
2,000-3,000 Hz, depending the capablities of your woofer or midrange.
