Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for Cerwin Vega Center ChannelI used this a replacement in a Cerwin Vega center channel. I had to enlarge the cut out for the larger magnet. I used some sand paper and a little elbow grease. Connected the wires screwed down the face plate and it worked without any problems.Couldn't have asked for better performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tweeter replacementNot sure why one of my previously replaced tweeters was failed, but the new tweeters are a direct replacement for what I had already done....not according to the purist....these are installed in Celestion Ditto 44 monitors that I originally purchased back in the 70s. I didn't bother to research brand name replacements, since I suspect that might be cost prohibitive, if they are available, plus the fact that there have been improvements in drivers since then. The new tweeters sound fine, and installed easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved our Old KRK K-Rok Monitors! We have an old set of KRK K-Rok's in our News Audio Booth that recently took a 'hit' of oscillation from a failing 'digital' audio console and we lost one of our tweeters and the other seemed to be on its way out too. KRK has been purchased by Gibson which has no documentation or parts for this legacy model. I just happened to see another user review claiming that these tweeters were a perfect substitute for the originals. Well, not quite an exact match. Physically, these dropped right into the cabinet with just a touch of routing of the outer diameter hole, but the original tweets were an 8 Ohm #7.2 measured# and these Vifa's were 6 Ohms. So I had to pad down these because alone they sounded a bit too bright/forward. I was concerned about protecting these in case of another 'seizure' by our audio console. So I had some JBL SK-5 Tweeter Protector lamps that measured about 1.7 Ohms that I dropped in series with these tweeters. It was just the right amount of padding they needed. Our local audio 'Guru' was very pleased with the final result. They sound every bit as good, if not better than the originals.

Vifa tweeter replacement

I am looking for a tweeter replacement for the PSB 40 mkii speaker. The one in there now is a Vifa D20TD-18. It is a 6 ohm tweeter that I believe is no longer made. Would this Vifa from PE be a good replacement? Looking to replace only one missing tweeter in the pair of speakers.
Asked by: JoeA
This will work well as a replacement tweeter assuming the dimensions match up properly.

when used in 8ohm application?

I would like to use these in a three way setup with dayton crossover 260-150 using either the celestion 5" or the discontinued Aura Ns6 6" as the mid @3000hz.any issues or suggestions at 8ohms? I was also looking at the vifa 264-500 3/4 poly dome and was wondering if I would be better served with a 1in over a 3/4in speaker I already have a large cutout and they will be covered tightly with cloth so I need them to "sit back" a bit in the cabinets.

A 1" will handle that crossover point better so I would stick with this model. You can use a 6 ohm tweeter on an 8 ohm crossover, the crossover point will go up slightly because of this.

92db with 8ohm crossover?

I am considering using these with a pair of the 292-408 gsr woofers wired in parallel "dual woofer" and the 299-416 celestion 5" mid is this tweeter to "hot" to match the others? I recall reading somewhere that one would have db lose with "lower ohms" which in this case would be a good thing.I dont want this tweeter to be "shrill" in comparison.I WILL be using the 260-150 3 way crossover @ 3k.
Asked by: Doofus
This tweeter is rated at 6ohms. Two in parallel in the same box? That would be a 3ohm load on the crossover and would likely be too loud for the other speakers. A series wiring setup would be better if you want to lower the volume and at 12ohms (handle) more power. If I misunderstood the question, and you want one in each box--(and if the tweeter is too loud to balance the speaker components) you could add an 8 or 16ohm resistor (PE has good ones) at the driver + side (after the crossover). 8ohms reduces the level 3-4db 16ohms reduces it by 6-8db. Total load is 14 or 22ohms here.

SHIPPING TO BRAZIL

1 - What is the crossover 2way indicated for this tweeter?2 - You do not send products to Brazil?
Asked by: nelnar
A second order crossover at 2000Hz or higher would be safe for this tweeter. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship to Brazil at this time.

I am looking to replace tweeters in paradigms studio 100 v2. i want to keep the original faceplate and would like to know if those 3 faceplate screws would fit over the original. i tried some vifa d25ag-35 06 before that were perfect. but no longer availa

Asked by: jeff13090
Unfortunately we have no cross reference for the holes for this type of thing. If you would call or email our tech support, we could pull a tweeter from stock and measure the distance between the holes if you would like.

good day to you.... may I ask a favor from you?... I would like to know the distance in inches between the 3 triangular screws that hold the faceplate to the tweeter. I think it should be right at 2 inches between them. could you let me know please..

Asked by: jeff13090
The three screw holes that hold the faceplate on are 2" apart.
