How much of a wattage increase would I get if I wire this into the PA (public address) output of my CB radio which outputs at 7w? Would it just be 7+7=14w or is it not that simple? The PA is a fun feature but is a bit too quite and I want to make it louder, without exceeding my speaker wattage rating or at least knowing where this amp puts me
Hello Mike,,,its not a good idea nor practiceto wire an amp to amp, especially large powerful amplifiers!.Doing this could be dangerous creating a fire and/or severely damaging equipment.Amplified sound is created using two stages within a circuit, first is the low voltage "preamp/ input stage",second is the higher "output stage" .The first stage is to pick-up / boost microphones, CD players, iPod, turntable, DVD players signals that are to weak for driving a amplifier with only mil-volts (millionth of a volt), higher output stages require volts. (0.775 to 24+)Every preamp and amplifier have their own hi and low / in and out stages!!...Feeding a hi to a low will result only in what the last unit can deliver in watts. They do not add..I recommend replacing your current with something around 25-40 watts.Loudness increases by +3 db by doubling power.EX: watt power 1,2,4,8,16,32Best of Luck, S
