USB Sound Adapter w/Mic and Headphone Jacks
The USB Sound Adapter w/Mic and Headphone Jack offers audio support to PCs and laptops without soundcards in the form of a USB dongle with an analog audio input and output built-in. PCs with onboard sound or soundcards benefit from being able to move the audio connections to the front of the computer case where a USB port typically resides for quick headphone/headset connection. Additionally, the USB sound adapter may be plugged into a remote located USB port or hub to offer sound connectivity away from a PC. USB DAC The adapter is USB 2.0 compliant and features a volume control with mute making it ideally suited for gaming headsets, VoIP applications such as Skype, a source for computer speakers, or for general audio recording and playback. Installation is purely plug-and-play with no software required for Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista and Mac OS9/OS X.

USB Sound Adapter w/Mic and Headphone Jacks is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to.I'm happy with this purchase. After using more expensive usb headphone dacs before, this one was bought in a pinch, and it's worked well.I haven't used the microphone input. Only the headphone output. My complaints are minor.1. Whenever it is initially plugged into the computer (OSX) the volume defaults to full, so make sure to turn it down before putting on headphones or turning on speakers. I don't know if this is the case when using a PC.2. When audio is passing through the device, the green led constantly flashes. It is somewhat annoying/distracting.3. I wish it supported higher sample rates. It only supports 44.1 and 48Khz.The device works as advertised. No issues besides what I mentioned, and for 20 dollars I think it's a great deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Got the job doneI purchased this product because due to my large power supply (1200W), too much power was being fed through my system and it was causing audio feedback (when you hear you internet and HDD working). Which wasn't really a problem except that it was being broadcast through my microphone when i would talk on Skype or in a game and it was apparently horrid. I got this and due to the fact that it was a USB, got rid of the noise immediately. My only gripe is that this device only supports stereo audio, so i am unable to use the Dolby 5.1 on my headphone while using this. But i just put the phones int my pc and my mic into the USB and i was a happy camper. There are no features on this which was a bit disappointing. Not even a manual volume function. the only thing is a mute toggle ( which didn't work for me on skype BTW).The setup was as easy as can be. Plug it in, it installs the driver for you, and you're good to go.Definitely worth the money if you're getting any mic feedback.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it needs to doThis unit worked great on Mac OS X, a true plug-n-play item. Used it for gaming and Skype, worked w/o issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Where's the Instructions?First of all - the package has no information or instructions. Guess they thought it didn't need them. Easy to install plug 'n play. Computer (XP OS) recognized it on the 2ND try (too many things going on during the first try). The only problem I have with it is it "takes" over my sound system in my computer. It excludes my SoundBlaster even when I select it. I have to unplug the USB Sound Adapter to get my sound card back.

Creating a podcast and need a USB adapter for mic

Will this product be able to make my good microphone able to be plugged in to a USB port? (The mic has a small jack that fits into the soundcard on the computer but I want it to use a USB port instead.) I will also want to get one other microphone (with a USB port plug in ability so that when I make our podcast I'll have two mics. Am I thinking correct here? Will my older "good" microphone with the small jack be able to work with a newer "good" microphone that has a USB connection? Thanks!

Not a good choice. You will have issues with your computer. Your best bet is this inexpensive Behringer mixer (PE#248-576), however you will need to use the line input of your computer's sound card. Another option if you need to use USB as an input is Behringer's larger mixer (PE#248-6540)...it's a bit more pricey but well worth it down the line. There are other brands available but the Behringer line has excellent sound quality for the money.
