is it possible to charge three six volt batteries wired in series with this?

Hello all! I am new to the electronics hobby world. And i am trying to build a portable speaker box to play my mp3 player at work. It can get noisy at times so i want to go with the 2x25watt class D audio amp. I was just going to power it with this and not even have batteries but the more i think about it the more i think it would be much more versatile to be able to play this without having to plug it in all the time. I have been doing a lot of research on how much power is needed to get the best results with amplifiers and it seems like 18 volts would be the best i could get with batteries with out going over the recomended voltage. With that being the case i am not sure if i can charge those batteries with this unit or if i need to come up with some other way of doing so. Any advice is welcome! I want to make this as safe and long lasting as possible. i am also including the speakers i plan to use and the batteries that i am considering, just for a better idea of the exact application.

You will be much farther ahead searching for a simple 18v SLA battery charger. We only offer 12v chargers but they are available if you do a Google search.

Can I use this to power the DTA-2

I built a boombox but I need to power an I-pod as well. Looks like this will work, but I am not sure of the compatibility of the connections.
Asked by: Chuck No. 2
Well, this has a bunch of adaptors. Usually 12 volts DC connections are pretty standard. I don't think you can go wrong with this setup.

How can I get the tips I need that don't come with it?

Asked by: Hockeyman34
If the tip you need is not included, I'm afraid we don't have a lot that we can offer in the way of quick and easy solutions. The connector this device uses for the tips is not a standard two-pin connection, but rather a multi-pin DIN-style connector. In order to retrofit other tips, some splicing of wires would be required.
