Tymphany XT25SC90-04 1" Dual Ring Radiator Tweeter
Tymphany XT25SC90-04 1" Dual Ring Radiator Tweeter is rated 4.5714 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs careful crossover designGood overall performance. Very flat frequency response and low distortion above 2KHz. Off-axis performance is so-so.Big impedance peak at Fs makes a conjugate filter a requirement for all passive crossovers. Will cross easily at 3KHz 2nd order. With a steep slope and paying careful attention to phase tracking with the woofer, below 2KHz is possible, however there are power handling tradeoffs (don't expect >100dB @ 1m without distortion :))Manufacturing consistency is not great from what i have seen. Fs of the samples i have used ranged from 827Hz to 930Hz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did what I needed it to do!For a science experiment, I needed a speaker that could handle ultrasonic sound (above 20KHz). The goal of the experiment was to determine if sound affected respiration rates and if it did, was ultrasonic sound more detrimental than audible sounds. It was found that the respiration rate of earthworms and crickets increased when exposed to ultrasonic sounds...and this speaker helped support student hypotheses. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very natural, very detailedViva's XT25SC90-04 is impressive for the price. I've found it to be excellent for a small to medium 2-way. Where some tweeters exhibit "character," this has none; one hears the instrument, not the speaker. For example, it shines reproducing the proper attack and timbre of a well-mic'ed high-hat.It is good when crossed-over (2nd order) from 3200 Hz on up; though much better at 3600 Hz. I would not recommend a high-pass lower than 3000 Hz 2nd-order.Paired with a Vifa P17SJ, I couldn't be happier! One downside -- if I could, I'd dock it half a star for its fragile tabs for wire connection. They are inadequately secured to the plastic frame, making them too easy to be pulled off when removing a quick-disconnect. At which point, this tweeter's light weight doesn't allow it to serve even as an adequate paper weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Valuable and remarkableThe cost of the tweeter was low, entry level, I paid 19 on sale for four. Consideringthat I am amazed. The appearance is simple yet the effectiveness of this designwas a revelation. Crisp and Not Harsh. Transients are airy and are clearly reproduced. For a low power speaker system this tweeter is an excellent choice. I used a crossover of 6bd/octave for 3200hz. I am changing it to 1500hz in a few days when parts come. I'm curious to see how it handles midrange octaves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOWI bought this tweeter to replace the weak tweeters in my 10 year old Polk RTi6s. I know nothing about speaker building or electronics. I was lucky. Excellent results.Easy swap out. I did have to trim the tweeter's mounting bracket a bit with tin snips to get it to fit. I tore the soft dome tweeter out of the Polk face plate so I could reuse the plate to make installation easier.High frequencies now sound crisp and clear. A perfect compliment to the always awesome snap of the Polk woofers.Side by side to my Paradigm Reference Studio/20s, the Polks now have both cleaner highs and lows than the Paradigms. The Paradigms have gone into storage.Years ago I auditioned Polk's LSi7 with its ring radiator tweeter. I remember it having the most high frequency detail of any speaker I ever heard. Almost to the point of sounding loud and raspy. This tweeter is less noticeable.Highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great valueNot the best tweeter in the world but could be one of the best for the money. You would need to spend at lease twice the money to get comparable performance elsewhere

What is the real sensitivity of this tweeter? Manufacture's website says it is 86.8 db, here it says it is 91.7 db......which one is it?

Asked by: jcsound
You can read it in the technical specifications. It says 1W / 1m - 86.8db and 2.83V / 1m - 90.14db. At the hearing it loud tweeters and can withstand a good sound power. And most importantly their dignity that they sound mild and pleasant and there is no irritating sound of cutting the ears that give titanium tweeters.

Hi Guys, It's been suggested I can use these tweeters as replacements (for sound, not fit) for my blown originals in Mission 753 floorstanders. Would you agree? Thanks and Best Regards, Nigel

I have a blown tweeter in a Klipsch Icon VF 36. with a 3 hole (1 9/16") pattern. The original tweeter Part number is K-138 160748. The specs say 8 Ohm with a crossover @ 1780 Hz. Will this tweeter work? Thank you
