from Great WooferI'm writing this having used the 4 Ohm version which is no longer available. This woofer was chosen for a two-way build due to the overall parameters that fit the enclosure size we had in mind. Most outstanding up front was the incredibly low inductance, which tells of the well endowed copper capped motor assembly. Measured distortion levels at high output levels testify to the linearized motor. From 100Hz on up at 10W input, I am measuring amplifier like levels of distortion, between .1% and .5%. Below 100Hz, my noise floor just doesn't permit accuracy. The posted response plots were almost identical to what we found. This application uses the woofer to a crossover point of 1KHz, with a waveguide loaded RS28 above that. As a mid-woofer, this "subwoofer" is fantastic, producing liquid mids, with great vocal reproduction, all while literally shaking the walls when loaded into 1.2 cubic foot cabinets tuned to 33Hz. 150-250W amp would be the ideal match for this 8 Ohm woofer in this application, allowing it to reach its peak levels without the amps doing the same.As a sub, well, you might reach into the upper 20s in-room, and you do get some floor shaking. But for movies and such, they just don't reach low enough and will be easily bottomed out during effects. Be careful.I'm dinging them 1 star because we did see some quality issues with a few of the units, but PE, awesome as ever, came through and took care of the issue.Bottom line, these are incredible performing woofers.
