Tymphany D27TG35-06 1" Silk Dome Tweeter
Tymphany D27TG35-06 1" Silk Dome Tweeter is rated 4.913 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very fine tweeterI have now used these in three projects and I love them! I like the fact that you can cross them over at much lower frequencies if needed. That said I have had very good results crossing them over at around 2000. The are crystal clear and very sturdy. They cost a bit more than some of the budget tweeters found here but they are well worth the extra money.I highly recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tweeterI bought this tweeter as a replacement for failed units in an old commercial system (an Amrita Geode 61/2" 2-way) and was planning on redesigning the HP section of the crossover to accommodate this tweeter, but after doing quite a bit of listening, I'm tempted to leave it the way it is. These tweeters are articulate, crystal clear, and detailed. Dropping in replacement tweeters without any modifications violates every law of proper speaker design and I'm sure if measured scientifically, there's undoubtedly some problems, but man, these things sound good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear and extendedUsed for a custom 3 way crossed at 2.7KHz 18db butterworth to a Celestion Neo 5 buyout (8 ohm, implemented as a midrange 300hz-2.7KHz) that was offered awhile back. You could cross this tweeter lower without issues and if I were to do it again I would go lower to get more of this great sounding driver in the mix.I wanted smooth freq response leading up to good HF extension and this guy delivers. As much as I like the Neo 5 as a mid, this tweeter has me thinking of upgrading - I think it deserves a top notch midrange partner. Not fatiguing in the least and really provides the "air" that I like.I used a series resistor to get the impedance close to 8 in order to match the crossover I had already built and this worked just fine. Lesson learned, though: start with your drivers and THEN build the crossover based on testing the frequency response and distortion. Again, I would have used a lower xover frequency or maybe just gone with a 2nd order instead. And cheers to Parts Express for fast shipping, knowledgeable support and an invaluable DIY community to help you learn. I could not have built these without all of you.

can it be a replacement for paradigm studio 40 v2 tweeter? I am more concern of 6 ohm vs 8 ohm

Asked by: hhle
The lower impedance will shift the crossover point a little bit. In general it is not going to cause any real trouble since this tweeter has a lot of room to crossover. If it will physically fit, I would expect it to do well

Recommended cross over frequency and slope when paired with the RS-150P-8?

Asked by: Auburn81
This will work as low as 1,800 Hz second order. With that woofer I would cross it somewhere between 1,800 and 2,500 second order.

Can you correct the link to the specification page. This and numerous other links quit working when the brand name was changed from Vifa to Tymphany. I ordered 5 of the 0.38 cabinets on sale and am trying to pick the best speakers.

Asked by: Auburn81
You can view the specs at the Tymphany site below. I will also have our site updated.
