Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for studio monitors too...I bought this over a year ago. I've tested it in a center channel for home audio, and now they are in my new studio monitors I just finished. Even testing it alone, the sound is very nice! You can almost even run it without a crossover because it can handle the power with minimal distortion. I gave it 5 stars because: Price is great. The performance is spectacular. It has a nice magnet with heat dissapating fins which is an innovative design. The tweeter is bright (94db) so I used a good 10 watt non-inductive resistor for my monitors. It has a very clear and precise upper bandpass region too. I highly recommend it. Thanks PE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Versatile little tweetersNice compact little tweeters, Great for small to large projects and they're high efficiency allows you to combine them with larger number of different woofers(if they're to bright you can dial them back with a L-PAD) On those compact projects the truncated face plate/horn allows you to mount them up close to the mid/bass drivers where they need to be. I'm using these in a MTM with 5.25" Peerless, 0.5 cu/ft vented boxes, 3500 Hz x-over is a 2nd order Linkwitz-Riley with an impedance EQ circuit on the Vifa BC25SC55's combined with a 1st order Butterworth on mid/bass drivers. "WOW" these are a really good value and can put out alot of crisp, clean sound for the buck. There intended use is computer speakers for my wife. I've also replaced a variety of other tweeters with these little guys and they worked as good or better than the original. You can't beat them for the price. Will be getting a bunch more. Thanks PE

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great performance and priceused this on a MTM set up with the Aura 299-030's. Great matchup. Very affordable. went single order X-over. You will enjoy the sound even more as you relate to the low cost of these items. When you're talking about a system with six speakers and crossover components for around $80 bucks, well................ Go PE.

Could somebody send me the mounting hole dimensions? Trying to replace a set of mirage m290 tweeters ( assuming they are 4ohm) which are also square mount tweeters. Just hoping the mounting dimensions are close. Thank you

Asked by: alex s
You can see all mounting dimensions in the spec sheet

Hi, Is this tweeter a good substitute for the Vifa D26NC-55-06?  How do they compare? Regards, David

Asked by: dsmithr
These are two completely different tweeters other than overall appearance. The impedance is different as well as overall size, so these would not work well as a substitute without crossover and cabinet modifications.

Please help me. i buy two tweeters, how can i reach 3500 Hz x-over ? , as they say down. with a capacitor 8uF ?

Asked by: alicia mendez
I would recommend a cap and coil for that crossover point. A cap value of 8 uF and a .25 mH coil will provide a second order high pass filter of 3,500 Hz.

Hi! I thought this was listed as ferrofluid cooled: is it? Thank you for your help!

Asked by: unklvin
Vifa does not mention ferrofluid in any of their documents. This may be something they changed.

I currently have 2 separate speakers wired to each of my speaker terminals of my home theatre amp. I have had it setup like this for years without trouble. Is this a terrible idea? And does this drop to the wattage to each of the speakers?

How do you recommend cutting a 1.7" hole? I assume that means a 1 7/10" hole, and not a 1 7/8" hole? Thanks

Asked by: dholt44
Yes this is a 1.7" (7/10) hole. This is just shy of 1.75" and there is plenty of tolerance for a slightly larger opening. You should be able to find a 1.75" hole saw or spade bit to make this easier.
