TIC SP70VTA 25V 70V 100V External Speaker Line Matching Transformer
I'm planning on connecting 4 tic gs3 outdoor speakers in my yard including 1 tic gs50 subwoofer. Are these external transformers a necessity for connecting each speaker to the receiver? I'm using a kenwood vr-6070 and its power output is 100 watts per ch.
These transformers are not necessary for use with a standard amplifier. They are only required for a commercial type 70 volt system.

how to set this xformer
I have 12 outdoor 8 ohm rock speakers, they are quite a distance from the amp. I chose a Crown CTS600 amp. I wired everything from the amp to the these xformers as if they were in a 70V arrangement, meaning i didn't worry about trying to match impedance. these xformers came set to 8 ohm, so i left them as such. i connected everything to the amp and turned it on and they appear to work fine. but is this okay? why are there selections for 8 ohm, 5W, 10W, etc? will this work as i've got it set up?
should work ok. The higher wattage settings are for "matching" total power to the speaker[s].But if you got it working, dont fix it. Check your amp for overheating...it will shut down if overloaded.
