TIC AMP10 Exterior Amplifier/Receiver

TIC's weatherproof AMP10 is designed to be used exclusively outdoors at the beach, for block parties, by the pool, or for tailgating at games. Complicated installations are avoided by moving the small amplifier and signal sources outside near the speakers. Four channels of amplification deliver up to 5 watts of peak power per speaker. The AMP10 accepts 4 to 8 ohm speakers, opening up speaker selection possibilities. RCA inputs for a CD player and MP3 player, as well as a 3.5 mm input for iPods, are provided. A full featured AM/FM tuner with preset function is built-in so that you don't miss a second of the ballgame or race while doing yard work. Two 3.5 mm dynamic microphone inputs will make your backyard the place to be for karaoke (dynamic microphones not included). System expandability is supported with a 3.5 mm stereo output for daisy chaining amplifiers.

Included with the AMP10 is a 12 VDC switching power supply that runs off of 100 to 240 VAC, a cigarette lighter power adapter, two 6 ft. RCA to wire speaker cables, a 3 ft. stereo 3.5 mm male to male patch cable, a 6 ft. stereo 3.5 mm to stereo RCA adapter cable, a mono male 3.5 mm to 1/4" female adapter, and AM and FM antennas. Dimensions: 2-1/4" H x 7-7/8" W x 4-3/4" D.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inexpensice Outside StereoThis unit is good... not great and not bad, just good. What you should expenct for the cost of this product. FM reception is mediocre at best. Works well with an AUX system (MP3 or iPhone) to supply music because FM is just weak. If you are looking for a "MacDaddy" unit go elsewhere but if you are looking for something for outside to produce OK reliable sound from an iPod/pad/phone... it is a good buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for.The TIC AMP10 Exterior Amplifier/Receiver is pretty much what you would expect for the price. Although it's kind of a "one-of-a-kind" product in that it's a portable receiver with a little power to drive some speakers, it falls a little short on performance. It claims 25w "continuous"....I doubt that very much. It's somewhat cheaply made, but it's also cheap in price, so that makes sense. First one shipped wasn't working on delivery, sounded like something got loose inside on shipping, but PE was awesome in exchanging it quickly #Thanks guys!#. It's easy enough to use but the reception is average at best. Don't expect Hi-Fi sound, so you won't be disappointed. I'd categorize this item as somewhat of a gimmick. If you want something for a quick solution, this works...if you want something that sounds good, look elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good features...short lifeProduct lasted 3 months then died. Output was very limited and could barely hear the speakers over the outside background noise

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't work out of the boxTook the unit out and hooked it up, but didn't work. Only 2 of the 4 speaker connections worked, the FM radio would not change stations, and there was so much noise on the output when hooked to the I-Pod the songs werent even reconiazble. Don't bother.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spend your money on a marine stereoWorked OK for about a month. Then it would turn itself on at random. Would hear music outside, and it was coming from my yard. The power connector on the back was intermittent, and for some reason, this thing is designed to turn on as soon as it receives power. After a year, the power connector became so loose, the unit wouldn't work at all.Even when it worked, FM reception was poor, no tone controls, no balance, LCD is hard to read, no way to mount it.If you want music in your yard, put the 79 bucks towards a marine CD/mp3/FM player (Pyle PLCD10MR) and put it in a boat enclosure (Jensen Marine MGH300). Had that setup for almost 2 years and it works great. Why spend $79 for something that's just a (poor) radio and so-so amp when you can get an outdoor CD/FM/Mp3 player for around $100?

TIC AMP10 Exterior Amplifier/Receiver

Will this unit rust if I leave it outside hooked up to my speakers?  If so, what can I buy or do so that they will last longer? (without bringing it in and outside)

Asked by: Dante13
This unit is designed to be left outside and is made from plastic and weather resistant. This is the only outdoor amplifier we have to offer.

iphone/laptop connection

can i connect an iphone/laptoptop to this device as i am doing a little outdoor cinema with a projector and i need more volume on the speakers? thank you jason
Asked by: jasonb
It appears to have a line-input with RCA connections. the iPhone/laptop should work just fine with a 3.5mm-RCA cable.
