from Poor VHF receptionExcellent UHF Hi-Def reception, but does not receive[as advertised] my one VHF Hi-Def channel which is CBS Ch 2 in Chicago. Clicking the ampflfier switch to "on" seems to do nothing.

from Not for those living in remote areas(link removed) claims 45mi range w/o obstruction. I live in 1 of the highest parts of OH, (30 mls) from Clv & Yngstwn. Couldn't get single HD signal. 6 or 7 "nearly" came in but none watchable, much less "HD"Further, images always show "bunny ears" down, but must be extended for VHF; they are L-O-N-G. So don't buy it for its compact good looks unless all your OTA HD is UHF. Depending on the point source of signals you may find yourself adjusting position! On the plus side, it's well packaged, manual is very clear, & is at least reasonably well constructed.Read a TON of reviews prior to purchase & had high hopes for this unit, because those in larger metropolitan areas seem to have great success, but I believe those of us in the stix are doomed to a rooftop (or attic) antenna.Don't take my low rating as a true gauge of performance, consider it a warning if your TV doesn't "almost" pull in HD channels without aid due to your relative location from the source.
