Terk AM/FM Tower Antenna

The TERK AM/FM Tower is a high-performance antenna that provides superior radio reception. The Tower’s built-in amplifier strengthens weak and distant signals offering greater control over the quality of your reception. Its Air Coil™ technology isolates the AM and FM elements from each other increasing radio reception and minimizing static and noise. The Tower can be used as an omni-directional or directional antenna. When placed vertically, it equally receives signals from all different directions; when placed flat, the antenna becomes directional and can be pointed at distant stations for better reception. With the emergence of new technology in radio broadcasting, the Tower was designed to be digital broadcast radio ready.

Terk AM/FM Tower Antenna
Terk AM/FM Tower Antenna is rated 3.3333 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't help at all.My favorite radio station (FM) is just out of reach from my house. I had a the standard FM antenna that came with my receiver (just two wires that run together for a couple feet, then split for a couple feet) which could get the station, but usually it was mixed with static. I replaced that antenna with simply a 20 foot length of speaker wire clipped into the antenna terminals on the back of the receiver. This worked alright, but it had to be placed perfectly, and any movement of the wire could mess with reception. Plus 20 feet of wire was inconvenient to hide in my living room. This tower antenna provides no better reception than my speaker wire, although turning the gain down can make the reception much worse.Very disappointing from a powered unit. Not worth my time or money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent antennaI live about seventy miles from a Houston, TX, fm station. The signal received on a Bose Wave Radio (receives fm only) was degraded primarily by static. Terk dicc-shaped antennas helped only a little. The Terk Tower Antenna has made a very significant improvement in the signal. Good instructions made it easy to set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dies what it shouldI have seen antennas for a hundred bucks or more. No need. This pulls in the faint stations and cleans up the middle ones. No noise on strong stations. I use FM mostly so I cannot speak to AM performance. If you need an FM antenna, get this. It works great/ Looks cool too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Did The TrickThis product greatly improved my reception. What was a very weak signal, full of static, is now clear.

Terk AM/FM Tower Antenna

Received answer that this antenna does not need a power supply but response to someone's question from a year ago on this product indicated one was needed and included. How can it truly "amplify" a signal if not powered? So is it powered or not? Thanks!

Asked by: Emorg
My apologies, I was mistaken. I had one pulled form stock to verify that the adapter which is included with the current models we carry is a 12 VDC 100mA model.

Question regarding the power supply for the Terk antenna.....I assume it plugs into AC outlet with a transformer to DC? Can you tell me what is the DC voltage supplied to the antenna? Thanks.

Asked by: Emorg
This is not a power antenna, so it doesn't include or require a power supply for operation.

Can this be used in both a car and a home

Asked by: Bruceles45
This is really only designed for home applications and would not be very practical in a car.

What is the length of the antenna wire. I'd like to know if I can mount this in my attic to increase reception and would need approximately 20 feet of wire from the antenna and the receiver.

Asked by: BobbyM
The length of the cables included are just over 6 feet, so extensions will be required for attic mounting.

does it have a plug to plug into a Bose wave radio?

Asked by: davepsj
This has a standard F-type 75 ohm plug for FM and a bare wire 300 ohm connection for AM. I am not directly familiar with the Wave Radio so I do not know what types of connections it has.
