TC Sounds LMS-R 15" DVC Subwoofer is rated 4.8571 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch sound quality, top notch low freq respI've had this driver for about a month now. My experience before this sub: owned 10 inch phoenix gold subwoofer, 15 inch MMATS PRO AUDIO 3.0 procast, 15 inch MMATS PRO AUDIO Dreadnaut. This TC driver sounds amazing. It is indeed very precise. Currently powered by a QSC CX 702, bridged @ 4ohm. RMS output of 2400 watts. This subwoofer has no issue with this amount of power, even at very low frequency ( < 25Hz). Current box volume is 3.5 cu ft with port tuned around 27Hz. Box needs to be bigger. Current application is LFE for home theater. I feel the sub could handle more power.I sure hope TC sounds will remain and continue to sell these awesome products. If I could, I'd buy another 3!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds like a badass:)I bought two of this badboys , and i`m very pleased. Fast delivery, bought on monday and it came on thursday already, same week(i live in Norway)I like everything about it. Good look, quality and sounds great! The driver itself comes in a second box and must be fixed with screws.the woofer may sound weird/broken if some of the four screws isn`t right in place, altough everything seemed alright. i turned the driver 1/4 of a round and screw the screws back on,now the subwoofer works great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AmazingI've been using 2 of these in my home theater/music room for about 3 months now. They are in sealed boxes with about 3.5 cubic feet interior volume each. I had high expectations for these sub, they were all surpassed. The performance is astounding, even @ 8 hz there is plenty of output! Objects were moving everywhere in my 3 story home!Sound quality is what really makes these shine though. They sound very, very good at any volume I can stand ( I love the decibels ). I listen to a wide variety of material from classical to death metal, these subs perform equally well with everything I've thrown at them.I've heard a lot of high end subs, these would put all of them to shame. Even some selling for over 4000$.Now for the negative points. These subs sound good below 60 hz. If you plan on using these with large floor standing speakers you will be very happy. If you are using small "satellite" speakers these subs would be a poor choice. I have no high-pass filter on my mains and that is what sounds best for my setup.I am using a inuke 6000 Behringer power amp to power both subs. It has more than enough power for my taste but the subs can probably handle a lot more. If I would have to do this all over again I would only get one of these subs and get a better quality amp. The output from just one of these subs is ridiculous. As a final note, you will need to eq these to get good sound quality. I am using the auto calibration with the supplied microphone on my receiver as an eq with excellent results.I highly recommend these, they are worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loud and LowLoud and Low, that's all that needs to be said. The driver is currently in a 10ft3 box tuned to 19hz.For the driver itself, I love how it comes in two separate pieces. Sound is overall excellent, even though it lacks a little in midbass, the LMSR is excellent in lower frequencies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oustanding SubwooferOutstanding driver and I highly recommend it! Excellent sound quality, digs can't go wrong. My subwoofer experience over the years: MK 350THX, SVS PB12/2, SVS Ultra12/2, HSU ULS-15, DIY SoundSplinter RL-P 18, DIY Maelstrom-X, DIY Tempest-X2 and this is my favorite thus far. All DIYs were sealed designs with a QTC of .707 and powered by an LT1300.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from response from TC SoundsWhen we designed the new LMS-R, our goal was to offer most of the performance of the LMS Ultra, but at a much lower price. It uses the same Linear Motor System (LMS) technology and has a much higher Force Factor (BL squared divided by the DC resistance Re)than the previous model. This allows for both sealed and vented box designs, in comparison the the previous model which was intended only for sealed enclosures. The result is a more efficient driver that will require some equalization if used in a sealed enclosure. We feel that the LMS-R 12" and 15" are the best affordable Linear Motor drivers we ever made.

Would this driver be suitable for use in an Infinite Baffle system? I am thinking of using two for a basement home theater setup (about 12' x 25').

Asked by: RyanG
Yes, this will work well in a infinite baffle system.

How well would a pair of these subs work in a "trunk baffle" configuration in a sedan? (The trunk is 14 ft^3) Also, how would it compare, in terms of sq, to a JBL w15Gti mkii?

Asked by: TadCat
These would work in that application although you will want to watch excursion levels if you plan on running full RMS power into them. I cannot say how they would compare to the JBL.

What is the lowest reasonable Ftune and with which volume this driver can work with? I guess the Dayton Ultimax 15 can go lower (F3) in the teens (below 20Hz) since its Fs is 19.5 Hz vs the Fs of 23.6 Hz for the LMS-R 15?

Asked by: Frank_Roberts
I would recommend 3-4 cubic feet sealed for the LMS driver and about 4 cubic feet sealed for the UM15. The differences in these volumes are minimal with the LMS f10 being 22 Hz and the UM15 f10 being 20 Hz. Both will handle full RMS power in these volumes and still have excursion headroom for the addition of EQ.

Can't seem to find what size screw will fit the mounting holes. 10-32 or 1/4-20?

Asked by: aktiondan
TC Sounds includes #8 wood screws and allen keys with each driver they sell. The largest screw this basket will accept is #8.

What AMP/Wattage pairs well with this sub?

I have a Crown XLS 1500 (class D, 1500 watts bridged into 4 ohms) and am wondering if that is enough power to push this LMS-R 15" driver near or at maximum SPL? I'd probably be mounting it in either a 3'^3 sealed box or perhaps a 5'^3 vented box. Thanks.
Asked by: Micah3sixty
The Crown you have will be perfectly suitable for this subwoofer.
