TC Sounds Epic 10" DVC Subwoofer
TC Sounds Epic 10" DVC Subwoofer is rated 4.7857 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from No regrets.I put this in a sealed cabinet around 1ft^3 and I am using a Bash 500 amp in a separate enclosure. It is very very tight with no left over rumble. I would recommend using a good amount of bracing if using a sealed enclosure. At the louder volumes it seams to really test the enclosure strength. It did get considerably louder as it was breaking in and I ended up turning the gain down quite a bit from what I originally started with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from possibly able to make neigbors angrythis is the second one i have purchased and i will buy more. Just bought this sub and paired it with 300watt bash amp got it on thursday put it in my 10 in mini scoop i just built. Got home on fri to find neighbors on other side of block across the street bumping their garbage. So i pulled out the scoop put it in the garage and let them have it. they just all starred. i recomend these subs for horn builds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best 10inch sub, extremely musicalI have this sub in About a cubic foot box, stacked ply DIY box with two 10 inch PRs, one on each side. At this moment powering with tiny 200 watts and the sub pounds but besides pounding it is extremely musical. Any music you play it's just great blends in with the speakers beautifully. I e played around with peerless xls, xxls, dayton hos and hfs, some bigger tc sounds, some morels. And I have to say so far epic 10 would be my first choice. I didn't experience nasty peaks just very smooth bass, and it can put out some serious grunt when playing rap and such.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epic 10, Morel, JL Audio, Pioneer systemThis review applies to the Morel CAT 308 - Morel CAM 558 - Morel Caw 638 - TC Sounds EPIC 10 Purchased from Parts Express.Back in the 80s I had a Morel/Zapco/Emilar 12" woofers system in a 1986 Jetta and a few years later in a 1987 VW Scirocco then 1990 VW Fox.Twenty year have passed since I did anything to one of my cars but I got the itch again and after I purchased a 2012 VW Jetta (yes another VW) decided to do it again. Doing Morels again (paying retail prices) was a no-brainer even though I work for a car audio retailer and could have bought a brand that we sold at or below cost.Which subwoofers to use was my dilemma but after months of research I chose to go with TC Sounds Epic 10 trusting the reviews on this site. I painstakingly installed the tweeters in the dash under the air vent that faces up at the windshield. The dome mid-range installed behind the left and right vents facing forward removing the vent louvers and making a plate covered with fabric...believe it or not using woman's spandex leotards which is VERY transparent. I tried nylons but the were too transparent and snagged. This is a front stage setup with no rear fill. The 6" mid-bass was installed the the factory location in a small sealed 1/2" cylinder MDF enclosure that I made. The EPIC 10s are mounted in a .5cu ft per side 1/4 round totally MDF enclosure (1" thick) mounted and firing into the car behind the rear seats.A hand made a "SOLEN components" 12db passive crossover is used between the Dome Mids and Tweeters @ 2500hzDriving the system is a Pioneer DEH-80 CD Deck into 2 JL Audio XD 700/5s (1 per channel) setup as a 3way system 150 watts to each 6"(80 - 500 bandpass), 150 watts to each Mid/Tweeter (500 and up highpass) and 180 watts to each Epic 10. I was worried about the sound quality using the JL Audio because I used to be a hardcore Zapco fan but WOW the JLs work well noticing no sonic difference vs the Zapcos I've used in the past. I'm thinking that the Morels probably are the main reason for the great sound. The Epic 10s sound GREAT as well with tight deep bass. I tuned the system by ear using the 16 band equalizer built into the Pioneer.I do plan to use a spectrum analyzer to fine tune it even more to correct any dips or peaks there may be but as it stands this setup sounds AMAZING. I've never heard a home audio system sound as good let alone a car audio and the imaging is KILLER ! ! ! I was concerned about the decision to aim the tweeters reflecting off of the windshield...not anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What tha ?This is one incredible subwoofer, it replaced Diamond Audio 10 inch. I am very pleased with the bass, witch I feel and the looks are fantastic. This is a very well built performance subwoofer. Only from our friends at Parts Express,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good sub, not too power hungry.I bought this sub as a replacement for the av123 ufw-10. The sub isn't a plug and play for the enclosure as you will need to widen the cutout so the speaker can fit. Be sure to use a sealing gasket to create an airtight seal as you will need to remove the rubber gasket on this sub unless you make the diameter even wider.Other than that modification to fit the sub lets talk about its performance. I was concerned that the dayton 250 amp wasn't going to be powerful enough, but let me tell you it is. I thoroughly enjoy listening to this sub produce great bass and it makes my other original ufw-10 seem weak.Overall very nice sub.

8 epic 10's in common 9 c. ft sealed box,  movie usage, 4x2500w/2ohms (each speaker gets 1250w, amps are 2x qsc rmx 5050, I have concerns of power handling of the small 2 in. coils, and wether or not there is enough xmax/xsus to prevent bottoming out

Asked by: xmax
You certainly have plenty of power and enough to bottom or burn up the coils. You will have to be cautious of excursion at higher volume levels. With 8 subs however there will be incredible output levels with very little excursion.

Which enclosure sold be PE is best for home use?

Asked by: tlovesm2
This woofer works very well in 1 cubic foot sealed, so any of the 1 cubic foot enclosures we offer will be ideal.

Looking for passive radiator design.

I'm interested in this driver in a small passive radiator enclosure. What size enclosure would work best and which passive radiator would you recommend. I currently have a BASH500 plate amp, but am open to suggestions.
Asked by: 134LRS
This woofer will work very will in 1 cubic foot with a single TC Sounds VMP 12" passive with no weight added. This will provide a tuning frequency of 27 Hz.

Was considering using a Extended Bass Shelf design... Does the port have to be straight or can it be a L shape?

Asked by: KurtM
Ports can have bends in them although I would only recommend one if possible.

would these be good for use in a boat?

am building a system for a boat and would like to know if a pair of these would be good for use in a boat. they will both be used in their own custom fiberglass enclosures probably sealed and be powered at 450 to 500 rms watts each? or would a diff speaker work better? dayton ultimax maybe? thanks
Asked by: booz
These woofers would do well in a good sealed enclosure, and the rubber surround and aluminum cone will do well in wet conditions, but if you plan to get rough and rowdy around these then they may be a bit expensive for you. I would dread something this expensive getting a hole in it or worse, so yes, it will work very well, but do you think they have a chance of being hurt where you plan to put them? You might want to shield them or tuck them out of harm's way. Otherwise, these are probably well suited for your use. I wish you well with your project, and please write a review (with photos if you can) when you are done. I would like to see the finished product!!! Best of luck!P.s. I hope this is a big boat, because most people only use ~300 watts and ONE woofer for a whole car or small home theater system. I think you should just try one first, then see if you need a second!
