TC Sounds Axis 12Q1 12" Quad VC Subwoofer

Unleash your music with room to spare with the Axis 12Q1 12" subwoofer. The AXIS is designed with high motor force, long excursion and very high power handling to provide loud deep bass in the mobile environment, or any environment where small enclosure size and ultra-high SPL are required. The AXIS has a 40+ pound motor, flat-wound 8-layer conductor voice coil on a triple reinforced stainless steel former; it works harder so you don't have to give up half your car to a large subwoofer box.

Note: All specifications are with voice coils connected in series.

TC Sounds Axis 12Q1 12" Quad VC Subwoofer
TC Sounds Axis 12Q1 12" Quad VC Subwoofer is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent performerI use a pair of these little monsters in a stereo system crossed over at 60hz to my full range main speakers. I use very high end Von Schweikert speakers so needed something to add that last octave and sound good. I have heard the arguments against the Axis series but until you hear them set-up properly you don't know what your missing. I have owned the older TC Sounds TC2000's as well and these are MUCH better IMO. The only subs that I own that are better are my LMS Ultra's in the home theater.

TC Sounds Axis 12Q1 12" Quad VC Subwoofer

I'm interested in the Axis 12 with intent on using it in a vehicle but in a passive radiator design because it's different, I get the lows of a reflex but no vent flutter. I was just curious if there was any info on cabin size with the TC 12 radiator?

Asked by: JayWinter88
I would recommend 0.9 cubic feet with no weight added to the PR. This will tune the box to 30 Hz and provide useable response into the 20's.

sealed enclosure

i have put a call and email to tc a few times with zero response.they have great products but poor customer service.so right now i have the axis 12 in 1.7 cuft that is tuned to 32 hz now and the thing is just insane how loud and clean it is.but now i want to put it into another car and its tight on space, so i want to run it sealed. so what would the enclosure size be?thanks, jeff

This woofer will pump great bass in almost any environment. You won't need to be concerned mounting this anywhere in a car. A sealed enclosure has back pressure and modifies the wave by compressing the rear motion and provides a "sling shot" effect of the foreword motion--like a compression driver on a horn. This makes it louder overall but at the cost of the lowest half octave. Still--it will crank and hold up longer--[see the cost of a replacement basket]. When you open your windows, people will know you are coming.

I have two Axis 12"s in a sealed box in my 2006 Scion XB, but want a ported box instead.

I had the sealed box built by a shop in Erie, Pa. They said that a ported box would need six or seven feet of air space each. I just heard a PT Crusier with two in a nice sized ported box and it was hitting very deep. So my question is this, how large should a ported box be for two Axis 12"s in a 2006 Scion XB. Any help would be awesome! Thank you for your time.-Mike Brown
Asked by: NCmike
They are wrong. My 12 Axis is in a 2.5 cuft ported box and its extremly loud and clean on my orion 275rhcca . I had 2 15" axis and kyle from tc sounds said not to put them in anything bigger than 4cuft each and the 12" go no bigger than 3cuft ported.
